On the morning of December 10th, taekwondo officially commenced in Bangkok, Thailand. On the first day of competition at the 33rd SEA Games , the Vietnamese taekwondo team competed in four poomsae (forms) events.

Present at the Fashion Island arena, female martial artist Chau Tuyet Van sat in the stands with her parents, cheering on the Vietnamese athletes. Having won many gold medals for Vietnam in regional competitions, Tuyet Van said she still felt nervous.

"I've participated in many consecutive SEA Games, so this time it felt different for the audience. I still maintain the habit of entering the athletes' training and competition areas and being stopped by security," Tuyet Van shared with VietNamNet.

The female martial artist, born in 1990, added that although she doesn't compete in the SEA Games, she still participates in world tournaments.

"I've been involved with taekwondo since I was a child, so it's hard for me to give it up," Chau Tuyet Van said with a smile.

Chau Tuyet Van began her career in 2009, achieving many impressive accomplishments at regional, Asian, and world levels. Currently, in addition to competing, she also works as a taekwondo coach and participates in many social activities.
