Hoa Lu held a meeting with retired and former military officers to commemorate the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army.

On the afternoon of December 18th, the People's Committee of Hoa Lu district organized a meeting with retired and former military officers in the area to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2023) and the 34th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2023).

Attending the meeting were leaders of the Provincial Military Command; leaders of Hoa Lu district, along with a large number of retired and former military officers in the area.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed the glorious and heroic traditions of the Vietnam People's Army over 79 years of building, fighting, and maturing. They also listened to the district People's Committee leaders provide information on the district's socio -economic situation in 2023.

The report affirms that in 2023, amidst a mix of favorable conditions, difficulties, and challenges, the Party Committee, military, and people of Hoa Lu district upheld the tradition of unity, strived diligently, overcame difficulties, and achieved significant results, meeting and exceeding 9 out of 11 key socio-economic targets.

Notably, industrial and handicraft production showed significant growth; budget revenue from taxes, fees, and charges exceeded the set plan (101%). Agricultural production yielded a good harvest, investment efficiency increased, ensuring both productivity and output, and meeting the requirements of linking agriculture with tourism development. The movement to build advanced and model new rural areas was intensified.

To date, Hoa Lu district has 56 out of 85 villages meeting the standards of model new rural residential areas; 5 communes meeting the standards of model new rural areas, and 1 commune meeting the standards of advanced new rural areas. Regarding the criteria for an advanced new rural district, the district has met 9 out of 9 criteria.

Social and cultural aspects, as well as social welfare, have seen significant progress. Political security and social order are ensured; local military and national defense work has been strengthened. Government building and administrative reform, with a focus on reforming administrative procedures, have been prioritized, initially building trust among the people and businesses...

These achievements are due to the leadership and guidance of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee; the coordination and assistance of provincial departments, agencies, and organizations; and the unity and determination of the Party Committee, the military, and the people in the district. In particular, they are thanks to the inheritance, development, and building upon the significant contributions of retired and former military officers in the district.

Also at the meeting, representatives from the District Military Command informed attendees about some prominent issues regarding current events and the results of local defense and military work in 2023.

In a warm and solemn atmosphere, delegates, who are retired and former military officers residing in Hoa Lu district, shared their memories and stories of soldiers of Uncle Ho during the war and in peacetime.

At the same time, they expressed their trust and expectation that the Party Committee and the government in the district would continue to formulate many correct policies and decisions to build Hoa Lu into an increasingly prosperous, beautiful, and civilized place.
