
The training course was attended by representatives from several functional departments and agencies of the province; officials working in environmental protection, the Fatherland Front , and women's associations from communes and wards of the province.
During the training course, participants were provided with knowledge and concepts about urban areas, residential areas, and green residential areas; methods for identifying and evaluating green residential areas according to environmental protection and climate change adaptation criteria; indicators for evaluating green residential areas; how to measure and identify green residential areas; guidance on how to develop plans that integrate environmental protection and climate change resilience requirements, and international experiences applicable to Vietnam…

In addition, trainees were guided by experts in practicing exercises simulating the review and identification of content needing adjustment and supplementation in the Green Urban Action Plan (GCAP); methods and steps for collecting data to develop GCAP plans at the local level… They also had the opportunity to directly exchange and discuss the goals and significance of the environmental protection and climate change adaptation criteria for green concentrated residential areas; Vietnam's commitments and goals to the international community regarding the environment; and to visit and learn about environmental protection activities, climate change response, and the development of green concentrated residential areas at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital complex.
The training course is part of the project integrating climate change resilience and environmental protection into the development of Type II green cities, led by the Department of Environment. It aims to help officials from various departments, agencies, and localities better understand the criteria for green concentrated residential areas and the methods for integrating environmental protection and climate change resilience requirements into the development of green concentrated residential areas in the province.
