Hoai Duc: Proactively respond and minimize damage caused by storm No. 5

The Steering Committee for Civil Defense, Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hoai Duc Commune said: From 3:00 p.m. on August 25 to 10:30 a.m. on August 26, the commune experienced moderate to heavy rain, sometimes accompanied by strong winds, with rainfall ranging from 40-60mm.

Currently, localized flooding is occurring in Hoai Duc commune along the following roads: Van Xuan (National Highway 32), the veterinary area, Lai Xa, Cao Ha village, Den village, Yen Be village, Yen Vinh village gate, Nam 32 urban area, and some other inter-village and inter-commune roads. However, there have been no casualties or damage to vehicles, and no landslides.

Regarding crops and livestock: In the commune, more than 50 hectares of crops and fruit trees were partially flooded in the Yen Be, Dai Tu, and Di Trach areas, and 12.13 hectares of aquaculture area in Yen Be and Di Trach were affected.

According to Nguyen Quy Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Hoai Duc Commune People's Committee and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Commune's Civil Defense, Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command, the commune promptly directed and mobilized nearly 40 people to organize patrols and inspections, quickly khắc phục and clear drainage in flooded areas.

According to Nguyen Van Tung, Commander of the Hoai Duc Commune Military Command, the forces continue to organize patrols and control activities in the area; prepare well for the prevention, response, and recovery from Typhoon No. 5; promptly handle any incidents that occur to ensure the safety of people and property; and at the same time, disseminate information, warn, and guide the people on measures to prevent, avoid, and respond to heavy rain and tornadoes, and ensure electrical safety during rain and storms.
