With her petite figure, warm voice, and calm gaze, teacher Nguyen Thi Canh Thuan (born in 1981, from Kim Song Truong commune, Can Loc district) always evokes feelings of closeness and trust in those she interacts with. This stems from her belief that teaching is not just a job, but a heartfelt choice, a quiet yet passionate pursuit.

For teacher Thuan, teaching is not only a job but also a choice from the heart.

As a professional group leader and a key teacher at the provincial level, Ms. Thuan always sets an exemplary example and is also an inspiration, keeping the Literature group at the forefront and creative in its profession.

Ms. Thuan shared: “I always want to convey the message to my colleagues: Every lesson is an opportunity to sow seeds of love and faith. I believe that teachers should not only teach literacy but also cultivate emotions and instill good character in their students. Literature helps students see themselves and others, but this must be guided by a dedicated, responsible teacher who is empathetic and patient enough.”

From the 2015-2016 school year to the present, the Literature Department under her leadership has consistently achieved the title of Outstanding Advanced Department; 12 teachers have been recognized as excellent teachers at the school level, and 3 at the provincial level – these achievements did not come naturally but are the result of each person's efforts, careful feedback on shortcomings, and sincere sharing of innovative ideas...

Sharing and talking with students is also a way for teachers to understand their psychology, thereby making appropriate and effective teaching choices.

“Ms. Thuan is meticulous but not a perfectionist. She always sees the strengths of others to encourage them, and when giving feedback, she does so with great subtlety. Thanks to her, we always uphold the spirit of self-learning, constantly innovating and improving. Especially, she's the way she instills in students a genuine love for literature,” said Ms. Le Thi Kim Quy, a teacher in the Literature department.

On the podium, Ms. Thuan is not only a teacher but also an inspirer who awakens in her students a love for beauty, for literature, and for a profound way of life. From the 2015-2016 school year to the 2024-2025 school year, the provincial-level gifted student team under her guidance achieved 100% success, winning a total of 40 awards, including 6 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 9 third prizes, and 5 consolation prizes. In addition, she has guided 4 students to participate in provincial-level scientific research projects, winning 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes.

“In our hearts, Ms. Thuan is often more than just a teacher; she's a true source of inspiration. She doesn't force us to memorize literary works, but often asks, ‘Do you see any resemblance between that character and someone in real life? Does that character's personality resemble your own or your friends'?’ That way, we find literature more accessible and fall in love with it without even realizing it. With each lesson she teaches, we not only learn literature but also appreciate the beautiful values within the literary world ,” shared Pham Thi Quynh Trang, a student who won first prize in the provincial-level Literature competition for 10th graders in the 2024-2025 school year.

Not only is she a highly competent teacher, Ms. Thuan is also an exemplary Party member and an active advocate of learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example. Without lengthy philosophical pronouncements or flowery language, Ms. Tran Thi Canh Thuan learns from and follows President Ho Chi Minh's example in the smallest, simplest things. Many times, after preparing her lesson plans, she has found herself pondering: "I've been too rigid, I need to be more flexible," "I haven't listened enough, I need to talk more with my colleagues," "My teaching methods aren't suitable for the students' understanding and psychological development..." These are instances of Ms. Thuan's self-reflection and self-correction.

As a result, the atmosphere of the Party branch's activities became increasingly democratic, trustworthy, and close-knit.

For her, learning from President Ho Chi Minh also means thorough preparation before each meeting and lecture, and a responsible and honest attitude in all matters. She is fully dedicated to her profession, but always stands behind others to support them. The Literature-English Party branch under her leadership has achieved the title of "Outstanding Collective" for five consecutive years. She has also received the title of "Outstanding Emulation Soldier" at the grassroots level for many years, and notably, in the 2023-2024 school year, she received the title of "Outstanding Emulation Soldier" at the provincial level, and was awarded certificates of merit by the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province and the Ministry of Education and Training .
