The Hanoi International Young Informatics Talent Competition for the 2024-2025 school year will use international exams to evaluate, rank, and award prizes to elementary, middle, and high school students in the capital city. Contestants will experience online computer-based exams with internet access, assessing their informatics knowledge and skills according to US standards, including: IC3 Spark (for elementary school students), IC3 (for middle school students), and MOS (for high school students).
The competition is divided into three rounds: the qualifying round (school-level selection round, taking place from January to March 2025); the preliminary round (district/county/town-level selection round, tentatively scheduled for March 23, 2025); and the final round (city-level selection round, tentatively scheduled for April 13, 2025).

At each round of the competition, the Organizing Committee will commend and award certificates to contestants who achieve high results. In particular, outstanding students who win prizes at the city level will receive a certificate of merit from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, along with a medal and prizes from the Organizing Committee.
In addition, high school students who win first, second, or third prize will be directly recruited into the Hanoi City team to participate in the national qualifying round of the 2025 World Office Computing Championship.
The total prize money at the city level amounts to 250 million VND.
It is known that, in the 2023-2024 season, the competition saw enthusiastic participation from nearly 30,000 students from over 550 high schools in 28 districts and towns across the city. The results showed that over 80% of the contestants in the city-level round achieved scores above 700/1000 points – the required score for the international IT proficiency assessment standards IC3 Spark, IC3, and MOS. Among them, two high school students from Hanoi won first prize in the national final round of the Viettel 2024 World Office IT Championship and achieved top 4 and top 5 positions in the world final round held in Anaheim, California, USA.
With outstanding results from the past year, the Organizing Committee will continue to implement the competition in the 2024-2025 school year on a city-wide scale. This will contribute to promoting the teaching and learning of information technology in line with new international trends, keeping pace with advanced educational standards worldwide, and equipping Hanoi students with a solid foundation to become global digital citizens.
