Students participate in sports competitions at school.
Taking place from now until the end of November 2024, the Marie Curie High School student sports festival has 7 competitions with about 1,000 students participating, including: Men's mini soccer; men's and women's basketball; men's and women's chess; men's and women's Chinese chess; tug of war; men's and women's pickleball doubles; singles and doubles badminton.
"The sports festival is an annual activity of the school, but this year it has a special meaning. We aim to build a happy school, where students not only study but also develop comprehensively physically and mentally," said Mr. Tran Van Yen, principal of Marie Curie High School.
Mr. Nguyen Van Yen, Principal of Marie Curie High School, said the school has upgraded its facilities to serve the sports training needs of students, especially pickleball.
With the motto "healthy to study well", the school has invested in building a basketball court next to the jogging track, 4 pickleball courts and taking advantage of outdoor space to organize other sports activities.
In addition, the school will also arrange small corners for students to play badminton and other sports.
Nguyen Minh Thy, a student of class 10N, said: "The school not only has traditional sports such as soccer and basketball, but also regularly updates new sports such as pickleball and gym, giving us more options to exercise."
Previously, the school also included GYM in the extracurricular physical education program, helping students have more choices of sports suitable to their abilities and interests after class.
Students get free GYM during PhysicalEducation class at Marie Curie High School.
