The ceremony was chaired by Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy Nguyen Manh Dong, Acting Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs Pham Dut Diem and a number of officials from the two units. This is an activity in response to the movement to mobilize contributions of documents for the Traditional House launched by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son on July 4, 2025.
At the ceremony, the Department of Foreign Affairs presented the Academy with nearly 100 documents and artifacts, reflecting many foreign affairs activities before 1975. These documents were contributed by leaders, officials and relatives of officials of the Department through the periods at the Minister's call. Among them, there are photos, archives and some documents on Vietnam's diplomatic activities that have never been published before.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Diplomatic Academy Nguyen Manh Dong emphasized the significance of the contribution of documents and artifacts reflecting the 80-year history of the Diplomatic Service, demonstrating the proud tradition of generations of diplomatic officers in the cause of building, protecting and developing the country. Expressing gratitude for the positive and responsible contributions of generations of officers of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs to the historical and traditional work of the Service, comrade Nguyen Manh Dong affirmed that these valuable documents will be preserved and exploited by the Academy in the best way, first of all serving the space of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the Exhibition of socio -economic achievements in celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day, which will be held from August 28 to September 5, 2025.
Comrade Pham Dut Diem said that in recent times, the Department of Foreign Affairs has also paid great attention to collecting artifacts and documents and considered this a regular activity, aiming to educate political awareness for generations of cadres, especially young cadres, about the pride and glorious tradition of the Industry. Emphasizing that the documents presented to the Ministry today demonstrate the honor and pride of the Department's cadres through the periods for the tradition of the Industry. He emphasized that although the artifacts and documents presented by the Department of Foreign Affairs are only a "small slice" in the glorious history of Vietnamese Diplomacy, they will contribute to diversifying the data treasure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
