On the afternoon of July 1st, the Ninh Binh Provincial Veterans Association held a conference to review its work during the first six months of the year and to plan tasks for the remaining six months of 2024; it also launched and signed a pledge to participate in the "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" emulation campaign by 2025.
The conference was attended by representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, and the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department.
In the first six months of the year, the Veterans Association at all levels in the province admitted 907 new members, bringing the total number of members in the province to 51,145, operating in 1,707 branches under 191 association organizations.
Veterans' associations at all levels have actively and proactively advised Party committees and authorities on leading and directing the construction of political foundations, socio-economic development of localities, and effectively participated in programs, movements, and campaigns, especially the new rural development movement. In particular, veteran members at all levels contributed 4,500 man-days to new rural development, propagated and mobilized 18 households, donated 995 m2 of land for construction projects, demolished 1,320 m of fences, and participated in building more than 5 km of rural roads.
The emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans," and veterans helping each other in economic development and poverty reduction, continues to be actively encouraged by veterans' associations at all levels in the province. In particular, the Provincial Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs continues to maintain over 90 effective production and business establishments, providing employment for nearly 10,000 workers. The Association has had 25 exemplary models and individuals awarded the title "Excellent Production and Business in 2023" by the Vietnam Veterans Association.
The various levels of the Veterans' Association coordinated the organization of visits and presented 1,721 gifts to veteran members, worth 1.081 billion VND; provided job counseling for 222 soldiers who completed their military service and returned to their localities; planted 58,900 trees of various types; and encouraged members to write 652 works to participate in the 4th Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Ideological Foundation of the Party.
Regarding the direction and tasks for the last six months of the year, the Veterans Associations at all levels in the province will continue to closely follow the directives and resolutions of the Party committees at all levels, the political tasks of the locality, proactively develop plans and implement the Association's work in accordance with the actual situation... Organize the "Exemplary Veteran" emulation congress for the period 2019-2024; actively participate in the "Veterans' Singing Festival"; and participate in the writing contest on exemplary advanced models on the Vietnam Veterans Association's comprehensive electronic information portal.
Implementing a movement for each official and member to save 2,000 VND/month to create the "Veteran's House for 2,000 VND" model; mobilizing resources from businesses and philanthropists to support the construction and repair of houses for members' families facing housing difficulties, striving to complete the target of building and repairing 35 houses for members in 2024.
Continue to strengthen the Association's staff in accordance with the plan for rearranging administrative units at the commune and district levels as planned by the Provincial People's Committee; build strong and comprehensive Veterans Associations at all levels, and successfully complete the tasks for 2024.
At the conference, the Provincial Veterans Association Executive Committee launched a campaign to "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" within the Veterans Association by 2025.
