This morning, January 20, the Quang Tri Provincial Association of the Blind held a conference to summarize activities in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

In 2024, the Provincial Blind Association effectively implemented the key tasks set out. Through the National Employment Fund, the association recovered and re-lent 11 projects of the Vietnam Blind Association with a total amount of 256 million VND. The loan capital was used effectively to improve the lives of members. Blind associations in districts, towns and cities have maintained concentrated production facilities for items such as bamboo toothpicks, brooms, incense... creating jobs for many members. Massage and acupressure facilities have been expanded and invested in, attracting many workers.

Regularly investigate and survey to propose timely solutions to social policies, issue health insurance cards to members and the blind. Mobilize charitable organizations and individuals at home and abroad to donate 8,529 gifts in cash and in kind with a total value of more than 3.5 billion VND and repair 7 houses for members in difficult circumstances. The poverty rate of the whole association decreased from 15.99% to 13.78%.

In 2025, the Provincial Blind Association will continue to promote key programs on job creation and poverty reduction for members. Continue to maintain concentrated production facilities, improve quality and design, innovate equipment, diversify products, improve product quality, research new products suitable for the blind, gradually increase the revenue of the facility and the salary of workers; open new jobs, focusing on massage and acupressure.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Blind Association awarded certificates of merit to 4 groups and 9 individuals with outstanding achievements in the association's work in 2024. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province awarded 50 gifts (VND 500,000/gift); the Association of the Disabled, Agent Orange Victims, Support for the Disabled and Protection of Children's Rights of the province awarded 67 gifts (VND 300,000/gift) to blind people in difficult circumstances.
