- On the morning of December 9, the Department of Education and Training (DET) organized a conference in person combined with online to junior high and high schools in the province to deploy English as the second language in schools for the period 2025 - 2035 with a vision to 2045.

Attending the conference were leaders of the Department of Education and Training, the University of Foreign Languages - Hanoi National University and over 1,000 delegates who were managers, professional group leaders, and English teachers of secondary and high schools in the province.

At the conference, delegates listened to a summary assessment report on the Project on teaching and learning foreign languages in the national education system for the period 2017 - 2025 in Lang Son province; the content of the Prime Minister's Decision approving the Project on making English the second language in schools for the period 2025 - 2035 with a vision to 2045; the situation of Vietnamese education in the context of globalization and the era of national development; national language management in the context of globalization, conditions to ensure making English the second language, international experience and recommendations for Vietnam; application of the content-based learning model (CBI) in designing teaching materials for Natural Sciences in English...

At the same time, delegates listened to the sharing of representatives from the University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and representatives from the Foreign Language Secondary School, University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi about teaching subjects in English.

At the conference, representatives of Vinh Trai Secondary School and Chu Van An High School for the Gifted in Lang Son province reported on the current situation, difficulties, solutions and directions for implementing English teaching as a second language in schools.

The conference aims to communicate to managers, professional group leaders, and English teachers of schools in the province about the Politburo's guiding viewpoints on the initial steps to make English the second language in schools; orientations for implementing making English the second language in schools; defining tasks and solutions for implementation in the coming time (2025 - 2035 period, orientation to 2045). At the same time, introduce the initial model for implementing making English the second language in schools.
