Accordingly, the ancient mai forest was discovered in the forest area managed by the Provincial Special-Use Forest Management Board a few years ago and was secretly protected by forces.

Initial counting shows about 300 ancient apricot trees with diameters ranging from 20 to 60 cm and hundreds of years old. In addition, there are many apricot trees with a trunk diameter of less than 10 cm. Most of these apricot trees have rough bark with many different curving shapes, and are blooming with fragrant flowers.

Director of the Provincial Special Use Forest Management Board Truong Quang Trung said that the publication of information about the ancient mai forest could create more pressure for the management and protection of the unit. However, in order to serve the construction of experiential tourism tours, promote strengths to develop the local socio-economic situation, information about the ancient mai forest is essential.

The unit hopes to receive the cooperation and support of all levels, sectors and people in doing a good job of researching, preserving and protecting this rare ancient mai species.
