More than 600 elderly people perform folk dance

This is one of the activities responding to the International Day of Older Persons (October 1); responding to the Action Month for the Vietnamese Elderly (October 2025).

On September 7th, the "Vietnam Elderly Health Festival 2025" took place at the Phu Dien Ward Cultural and Sports Center (Hanoi).

In his opening remarks, Tran Duy Phuong, Editor-in-Chief of the Elderly Magazine, emphasized that health is the most precious asset of every individual. For the elderly, it is not only a support for themselves but also a source of joy and happiness for their families and communities.

With the motto "The best doctor is yourself - Lasting health, joyful old age," the event featured a variety of activities, from group exercises and outdoor folk dances to cultural performances, social gatherings, and especially a health training workshop with the participation of leading experts in cardiology and health exercises.

Highly appreciating the initiative and commending the Organizing Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, Phan Van Hung, shared that in the context of our country entering the stage of population aging, caring for the health of the elderly is not only a responsibility but also a sentiment, a fine tradition of the Vietnamese people: "Respecting the elderly - Honoring longevity".

“I believe that through this festival, each elderly person will be given more knowledge, energy and confidence to take care of their own health, live more peacefully and happily every day. At the same time, this is also an opportunity for the whole society to raise awareness, so that taking care of the health of the elderly is not just an activity, but a movement, a beautiful cultural feature of our country,” said Mr. Phan Van Hung.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, more than 600 elderly people participated in folk dance performances, cultural exchanges, and games.
