Houthis attack US aircraft carrier three times in 24 hours

(CLO) Within the past 24 hours, the Houthi armed forces in Yemen have attacked three times the warship group led by the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman in the Red Sea.

Speaking live on Al-Masirah TV on March 30, Houthi armed forces spokesman Yahya Saree said: "In the past 24 hours, our armed forces have engaged three times with a group of enemy warships led by the US aircraft carrier Harry Truman in the Red Sea."

"The counter-offensive operation involved missile forces, drones and naval forces, using a number of cruise missiles and drones."

Tensions escalated after US President Donald Trump announced a military campaign against the Houthis on March 15. Mr. Trump explained that the campaign was in response to Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier strike group, based in the Red Sea, has been conducting repeated airstrikes against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen. In this context, confrontations between Houthi and US forces in the region are becoming increasingly tense, posing the risk of large-scale conflict escalation.
