Focus on implementing treatment regimen
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , the current situation assessment shows that the health of cows in Lam Dong province has had positive changes. The treatment regimen has been announced, gradually contributing to preventing and repelling diarrhea epidemics, maintaining the dairy cow herd in Lam Dong province.
Regarding the cause of the unusual death of dairy cows in Lam Dong province, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien said that the Ministry has worked with local authorities and related units. Accordingly, it can be affirmed that the vaccination against lumpy skin disease has a certain impact.
“The lumpy skin disease vaccine has been injected into cattle in many localities, mainly yellow cattle. It is possible that the yellow cattle have better resistance, so their immunity is very good, while the dairy cattle have had problems after being injected…” - Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien added.
However, the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development emphasized that vaccination is still the most effective disease prevention shield for livestock, protecting the livelihoods and businesses of farmers. After determining the cause, it is necessary to communicate so that farmers understand clearly, avoiding the fear of using vaccines to prevent disease for livestock.
To reduce the number of cows that get sick and die from diarrhea, central authorities and Lam Dong province continue to organize and implement measures to treat sick cows and limit damage. In particular, the urgent solution now is that farmers need to actively coordinate with veterinary staff to implement treatment regimens for cows to ensure the best results.
“Currently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is focusing resources, materials, and chemicals to fight the epidemic and protect the health of the cattle. After determining the cause of the cattle deaths, it will clarify which cases will be compensated and which cases will be supported. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will thoroughly handle this content so that people can feel secure in production and livestock farming” - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien .
