
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Thanh commune mobilized resources to provide charitable housing for underprivileged students who excelled in their studies.
Mr. Dang Minh Nhut, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Thanh commune, said: "Through these activities, the Fatherland Front has gradually affirmed its role as a bridge between the government, the people, and the business community and philanthropists in caring for the poor in the area."
In 2025, thanks to the investment from above and the joint efforts of the community, the Prime Minister 's emulation movement to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025 achieved high results in the commune. Thereby, 382 houses (239 newly built, 143 repaired) were built and handed over to people to have a warm place to live, reaching 100% of the plan. The commune also mobilized over 18.6 billion VND, people donated 7,800m² of land, contributed more than 510 working days to build roads, dredge canals, light up rural roads, helping to improve the appearance.
Regarding the movement "For the poor - No one left behind", the commune also achieved practical results. In 2025, 42 million VND was mobilized; the Fund to support the people in the North to overcome the consequences of storms and floods was mobilized with more than 24 million VND. The Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations also mobilized, organized visits and gave over 5,750 gifts to the poor, Agent Orange/dioxin victims, lonely elderly people, students, families in difficult circumstances, and policy families in the area worth more than 1.8 billion VND.
Mr. Le Van Ho, residing in An Phu hamlet, a war invalid with difficult economic conditions and a dilapidated house, was extremely happy when he was considered for 30 million VND in support to repair his house: “My family now has a safe place to rest. I will preserve and renovate this house for long-term living and will further promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, actively participating in local emulation movements, building new rural areas and cultural families. I will raise my children and grandchildren to be good people, useful to society.”
Mr. Dang Van Tam, Head of the People's Committee of An Phu A hamlet, An Thanh commune, said that the concern and assistance for poor households and vulnerable people has been spreading acts of compassion in the locality.
During the year, the hamlet supported over 30 poor and near-poor households with loans and guidance on suitable farming and livestock models. The movements "Meals of Love", "Charity Rice Jars", "Free Wardrobes" were maintained by the hamlet, bringing joy to many disadvantaged households and lonely elderly people. It mobilized to donate 50 scholarships, 3 bicycles, 100 school supplies to help students continue to go to school; coordinated medical examinations, provided free medicine, and supported health insurance cards for 50 elderly and disabled people.
An Trung Hamlet also has many activities to help students get to school easily. Tran Nguyen Kim Ngoc, a student at An Thanh 1B Primary School, living in An Trung Hamlet, is very happy to receive support from the locality and benefactors with a charity house worth 60 million VND. "This Tet, my family has a new house to live in; my sisters and I have a place to study. From now on, we don't have to worry about leaking rain anymore," Ngoc said emotionally.
The Women's Union of An Thanh commune did not stand aside when in 2025 it mobilized to give 230 gifts to poor members in difficult circumstances worth over 110 million VND; and awarded 100 scholarships to members in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the new school year worth 30 million VND. "From August 25, 2025, the Union has implemented the model "Loving Morning" to give 2 times/week to relatives and patients at Cu Lao Dung Medical Center. Up to now, 2,900 porridge portions worth over 30 million VND have been made and the funding comes from socialized sources; the unit's women cook directly. At the same time, the organization gives away free vegetarian meals 2 times/month (at the beginning of the month and on the 15th day of the lunar month) to people in difficult circumstances. Through this, we hope to be able to share and reduce the burden for many people", Ms. Tran Thi Diem Hang, President of the Women's Union of An Thanh commune, shared.
Mr. Vo Thanh Nhanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Thanh commune, said: "The commune is implementing a plan to mobilize over 1,000 gifts to be given to poor people, social welfare recipients, and policy beneficiary families on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 so that people can celebrate Tet warmly and joyfully."
These activities not only strengthen the people's trust in the Party Committee, the government, and the Fatherland Front, but also contribute to building a sustainable national unity bloc in An Thanh commune.
