Urgently protect and reinforce cultural works and relics

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just issued Official Dispatch No. 5908/BVHTTDL-VP on focusing on quickly overcoming the consequences of floods in the Central region.

In particular, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested localities to continue to closely follow the direction of the Government and the Prime Minister, focus on leading and directing the implementation of measures to overcome the consequences of floods quickly and promptly, ensuring safety for people and tourists ; organize damage assessment, restore production, business and service activities according to the fields and sectors under their management.

Localities need to review and make statistics on cultural and sports works, institutions, historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, tourist areas and spots directly affected by floods and promptly deploy protection and timely reinforcement measures to ensure the preservation and integrity of the value of the works.

The Ministry also requested localities to direct press agencies, radio, television, and grassroots information to regularly update developments of floods and landslides so that people can clearly understand the situation; at the same time, propagate and mobilize organizations, businesses, and individuals to join hands to support and share difficulties with people in flood-affected areas, promoting the spirit of "mutual love and support".

Heads of agencies and units under the ministry are required to inspect and assess damage, review affected construction works and works under construction, immediately deploy remedial measures, and closely coordinate with localities to support people in recovering from natural disasters.
