Khanh Hoa: Idea of connecting Tac River and Quan Truong River with Cai River

On the morning of July 21, Vice Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Hoa Nam worked with relevant units on the design concept of the Project to renovate, improve and develop tourism and service systems of the Tac River and Quan Truong River (West Nha Trang, North Nha Trang and South Nha Trang wards).

Accordingly, Mr. Tran Hoa Nam assigned the Provincial Development Project Management Board to coordinate with relevant units to urgently complete the design concept and project documents mentioned above to advise the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee in July 2025.

In particular, focusing on reviewing land funds to implement investment projects to create landscapes on both river banks in accordance with the development orientation of adjacent projects; researching investment phase plans to mobilize resources;...

The consulting unit informed that Quan Truong River and Tac River are being encroached upon, obstructing the flow and polluting the environment. The renovation and improvement of these two rivers combined with tourism development is extremely necessary and consistent with the planning orientation of Nha Trang City (old) until 2040 approved by the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, the consulting unit proposed the design idea of renovating the landscape of the Quan Truong and Tac rivers in the direction of connecting with Cai River, forming an ecological, tourism and cultural belt about 26km long, creating a synchronous waterway traffic system; combining the development of public spaces to meet the needs of people and tourists;... At the same time, it proposed to divide Quan Truong River into 5 sub-areas, Tac River into 4 sub-areas for renovation and embellishment, thereby forming a cruise route, an ecological walking path along the river;...

Quan Truong River is about 15km long, divided into two branches with the eastern branch (main branch) being 9km long and the western branch (also known as Tac River) being 6km long. The river flows into Cua Be and together with Cai River plays the role of air conditioning and has a direct impact on the water quality of Nha Trang Bay.
