On the morning of March 16th, the Provincial Youth Union held the inauguration ceremony for the swimming pool at the Binh Thuan Children's House.

The swimming pool was inaugurated at a time when young people nationwide, and especially in Binh Thuan province, are actively organizing activities in response to Youth Month 2024; celebrating the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024), the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), and looking forward to the 134th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024). This project is of practical significance, providing young people in the province with a healthy and beneficial environment and space for recreation, fostering and developing swimming skills, motivating them to study well, improve their health, enhance their physical fitness, and minimize the risk of drowning.
The swimming pool, located within the grounds of the Provincial Children's House, consists of a main pool with an area of 887.47 m2, measuring 25m x 12.5m, with a depth ranging from 1m to 1.8m, comprising 5 lanes and a roof; and a wading pool (semi-circular) of 61.9 m2 with a depth of 0.6m. In addition, there are other auxiliary facilities such as showers, changing rooms, and rescue equipment to ensure the pool operates efficiently. The total investment for the project is nearly 12.8 billion VND, including 10 billion VND from the Central Youth Union and nearly 2.8 billion VND from the province's matching funds.
At the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Tran Thi Hoa Xuan expressed confidence that the managing unit would organize many activities to guide swimming skills and disseminate safety skills in aquatic environments… At the same time, it would create favorable conditions for the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union to maintain and organize the annual green race competition for children, continuing to effectively implement the campaign "All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh".
To support children in improving their swimming skills and preventing drowning accidents, at the launching ceremony, the Central Youth Union donated 500 free swimming sessions for children, worth 15 million VND. In addition, the Provincial Children's Council also donated a library of books to the Provincial Children's House.
On this occasion, the Central Youth Union, in coordination with Vietcombank, awarded scholarships from the "Stepping Towards the Future" Scholarship Fund. Eight students from Binh Thuan province were honored with scholarships, including one student receiving a Type A scholarship worth 80 million VND, spread over four years, and seven students receiving Type B scholarships worth 5 million VND each. The Central Youth Union also donated 500 maps to the Provincial Children's Council in response to the "Proud of Our Homeland" campaign. Using maps of Vietnam in learning, working, and community spaces contributes to raising awareness of national sovereignty and identity among Vietnamese youth and citizens.
It is known that the Provincial Children's House is currently recruiting students for swimming classes, course 1 of 2024, with tuition fees of 500,000 VND/course of 8 sessions and 600,000 VND/course of 12 sessions, scheduled to start on March 24-26.
