On August 31st, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Ia Hiao commune, Gia Lai province, held a meeting to unexpectedly commend 3 collectives and 6 individuals for their outstanding achievements in treating victims suspected of food poisoning after a housewarming party in Chrôh Pơnan village (Ia Hiao commune).

The commended collectives included the Ayun Pa Health Center, the Phu Thien Health Center, and the Chrôh Pơnan village Party branch. Six individuals were honored: the directors of the two health centers, the village Party branch secretary, the head of the Fatherland Front working committee, the head of the Chrôh Pơnan village Women's Association, and Mr. Y Cúc Mlô (commonly known as Nay Lợi), who directly called the hotline to report the incident to the commune Party secretary, helping the local authorities to promptly implement the rescue plan.

Mr. Pham Van Phuong, Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Hiao commune, said that immediately after receiving information about the suspected poisoning incident, the commune promptly implemented many measures such as isolating the area, screening those involved to encourage them to seek emergency medical care, and providing food and drink for patients during their hospital stay. Thanks to the coordinated efforts, all victims received adequate care, and none were in life-threatening condition.

As of this morning, 45 out of 131 patients in the localities have been discharged, while the rest continue to be monitored in stable condition. The commune also committed to ensuring funding for treatment for those without health insurance, so that no one would face difficulties.
