VHO - According to the People's Committee of Hue city, the police have initiated a case, prosecuted the accused and temporarily detained for 3 months Ho Van Phuong Tam - the subject who violated the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty throne at Thai Hoa palace.

Ho Van Phuong Tam (42 years old) was prosecuted for intentionally damaging property, according to point C, clause 2, Article 178 of the Penal Code.

According to the People's Committee of Hue City, the locality has just reported to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism the results of implementing the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh on the case of the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty throne, being violated on May 24.

The city has directed the Hue Monuments Conservation Center and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently inspect, review and evaluate the work of ensuring security, preservation procedures, and display of artifacts, antiques,... especially national treasures at the center.

At the same time, develop detailed procedures and plans for management, preservation and display of artifacts and antiques at the Hue Monuments Conservation Center.

Strengthening the management and protection of security and safety at relic sites and national relics, antiquities and treasures under the management authority of the Hue Monuments Conservation Center; proactively developing plans to prevent, detect early and be ready to stop and handle acts of encroachment and sabotage.

Organize a review, draw lessons and handle the responsibilities of individuals and organizations involved in the incident of destroying the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty throne on display at Thai Hoa Palace.

The Hue City People's Committee assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to preside over and coordinate with localities and units to review and evaluate the work of displaying, preserving, protecting and measures to ensure security and safety for antiques and artifacts at museums and cultural and historical relics in the area.

According to information from the Hue City People's Committee, today, June 1, the Science Council will have a meeting to assess the status and propose a plan to preserve and restore the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne.

Previously, as Van Hoa reported, at noon on May 24, Ho Van Phuong Tam bought a ticket to visit the Hue Imperial City. When arriving at Thai Hoa Palace, this subject sneaked into the area displaying the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne, sat on the throne, and broke the armrest (left side).
