The regulations for university and college admissions in Early Childhood Education remove the requirement that each major or program have a maximum of 4 admission combinations; there is no limit on the number of admission combinations.
2025 will be the first year that students studying under the 2018 general education program will take the high school graduation exam. The Ministry of Education and Training has issued regulations for the high school graduation exam starting in 2025, which increases the number of subjects students can choose to take.
Therefore, to ensure admission opportunities for students from different regions, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that the regulations for university and college admissions in the Early Childhood Education major have removed the requirement that each major and each program have a maximum of 4 admission combinations; there is no limit on the number of admission combinations.

However, to ensure the quality and necessary knowledge foundation for university studies, the regulations stipulate that the subject combination used for admission must include at least 3 suitable subjects, of which Mathematics or Literature must have a weighting of at least 25% in the admission score.
From 2026 onwards, the number of common subjects in each subject combination must contribute at least 50% of the total score for admission consideration.
Regarding the reason for removing the limit of 4 subject combinations for university entrance exams in 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said that the number of exam sessions and the number of high school graduation exam papers in 2025 will decrease compared to before. With 2 elective subjects, the number of subjects students can use to register for the high school graduation exam will increase. If the limit of 4 subject combinations remains as before, it will restrict students' chances of being admitted to university compared to studying only one specific subject combination.
"This new feature aims to help candidates who choose different exam subjects or study in different subject areas still have a chance of being admitted to majors and training programs in accordance with the policies of higher education institutions," said Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Dung.
In addition to the above new point, the university admission regulations recently issued by the Ministry of Education and Training stipulate the abolition of early admission; candidates must use their academic results for the entire 12th grade year for admission consideration.
