With a proactive spirit, the locality has built specific disaster response scenarios for each situation such as: floods, droughts, landslides, thunderstorms, hail... with proactive and timely response and evacuation measures.

In particular, natural disaster prevention work is integrated with social security and resettlement policies. Up to now, the commune has arranged resettlement for 62 households in areas with high risks of natural disasters. Kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools have also been planned and relocated away from landslide areas to ensure the safety of students and teachers before the new school year begins.

Mr. Luong Van Trung, Long village, Van Phu commune happily shared: "Every year during the rainy season, my family of 6 has to move to a relative's house because of flooding. This year, my family received 80 million VND in support from the province's Directive 22, and the commune has arranged resettlement land. It is expected that in about 20 days, the whole family will move to a new house, no longer worrying about flooding."

Faced with the urgent need for disaster prevention and control, Thanh Hoa province has requested that after completing the organization of the grassroots government apparatus, communes must immediately strengthen the disaster prevention and control command force, not allowing any gaps in management when floods come.
