Controlling the Mid-Autumn Festival market and product quality until the end of 2024

Implementing the direction of the General Department of Market Management (GDM) and the Provincial People's Committee on strengthening market inspection and control during the Mid-Autumn Festival and checking the quality of goods until the end of 2024, the GDM Department requested its affiliated Market Management Teams to strengthen local management, collect information; coordinate with functional agencies and local authorities to inspect and control the market.

Regarding moon cakes, the Market Management force focuses on checking moon cake products at traditional craft villages in Viet Tri city, Phu Tho town; commercial centers, supermarkets, and moon cake businesses in the whole province. In particular, before the Mid-Autumn Festival, the focus is on checking and controlling moon cake production facilities regarding the origin of raw materials; the use of food additives and food processing aids; checking product quality and food safety conditions in production, processing and preservation of food. During the Mid-Autumn Festival, businesses, agents and stores will be inspected for the origin, quality of products and food safety conditions. After the Mid-Autumn Festival, the recall and handling of expired products and products that do not meet quality standards will be checked.

Regarding product quality inspection, the authorities focus on inspecting compliance with legal regulations on goods quality management, quality standards announcement, and declaration of conformity to national technical regulations; the use of conformity marks, barcodes, and codes; the conformity of goods with technical regulations and applicable declared standards; and the actual inspection of the conformity of goods quality with the content declared on the product label.
