Strengthening the National Forestry Planning Appraisal Council

(Chinhphu.vn) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 433/QD-TTg dated May 21, 2024, to consolidate the members of the National Forestry Planning Appraisal Council for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 (the Council).

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang is the Chairman of the National Forestry Planning Appraisal Council for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

According to the Decision, the Chairman of the Council is Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang. The Vice Chairman of the Council is Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan.

The Council members include: Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development; representatives from the Ministry of Planning and Investment; representatives from the Ministry of Finance; Mr. Chu An Truong, Deputy Director of the Department of Land Planning and Development, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; and Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.

The Council members also include: Representatives from the Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Hoang Dao Cuong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Transport; representatives from the Ministry of Construction; Mr. Luu Quang Vu, Deputy Director of the Operations Department, General Staff, Ministry of National Defense; Mr. Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Y Thong, Deputy Minister and Vice Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities; Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, Vice Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Deputy Head of the Central Economic Committee; Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Council for Ethnic Minorities; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Science, Technology and Environment.

In addition, the Council members also include: Mr. Lo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province; representatives from the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province; representatives from the People's Committee of Nghe An province; representatives from the People's Committee of Dak Lak province; Mr. Le Van Su, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province; Mr. Mai Kieu, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Thuan province; Mr. Vo Dai Hai, Director of the Vietnam Forestry Science Institute, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; and Mr. Tran Van Chu, former Rector of the University of Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The review committee members include: Mr. Trieu Van Hung, Chairman of the Vietnam Forestry Science and Technology Association (formerly Director of the Vietnam Forestry Science Institute); Mr. Nguyen Ba Ngai, Vice Chairman and General Secretary of the Vietnam Forest Owners Association (formerly Deputy Director General of the General Department of Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development); and Mr. Cao Chi Cong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Wood and Forest Products Association (formerly Deputy Director General of the General Department of Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development).

The independent expert is Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nghia (former Director of the Vietnam Forestry Science Institute).
