The 14th session of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Council will approve many important contents.

This is a meeting to assess the implementation of socio -economic development, national defense and security tasks of Binh Dinh province in 2023, set out directions, goals and tasks for 2024; at the same time, consider and decide on many other important contents according to authority.

Speaking at the opening of the session, Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province, said that in 2023, Binh Dinh province will carry out socio-economic development tasks in the context of the world economic situation having many rapid, complicated and unpredictable fluctuations; the global economy is growing slowly.

In 2023, Binh Dinh province achieved positive results: 18/19 main targets on socio-economic development were achieved and exceeded the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council. Many key infrastructure projects of the province continued to be invested, built, and put into effective use.

However, in addition to the achieved results, the province's economy still has many shortcomings and limitations. Specifically, production and business activities face many difficulties, the production value of many industries, export turnover, and budget revenue decrease compared to the same period last year.

Industrial production targets have not yet reached the annual plan. Investment promotion and calling efforts have been made but have not been very effective. Compensation and site clearance for some projects and works are still slow. Land encroachment, illegal exploitation of natural resources and minerals, environmental pollution, deforestation and fishing vessels violating foreign territorial waters still occur but are slowly being resolved...

According to the meeting agenda, the People's Council of Binh Dinh province will approve many important contents. At the same time, it will review and evaluate the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security in 2023, the achieved results and the remaining shortcomings, limitations and weaknesses in the implementation process; analyze objective causes and especially subjective causes in the direction and administration of the Provincial People's Committee, all levels and sectors.

In addition, the People's Council of Binh Dinh province will question and answer the questions of the leaders of the provincial People's Committee and heads of relevant departments, branches and agencies according to the provisions of law. This session has a large volume of reports, submissions, and draft resolutions submitted to the session (87 reports, 45 draft resolution files), taking place over 2 days (December 5-6).
