Celebrating 78 years of Italian National Day

On the evening of May 31, the Consulate General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to celebrate the 78th anniversary of Italy's National Day (June 2, 1946 - June 2, 2024).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, highly appreciated the Italian Government for actively supporting Vietnam's struggle for independence and the process of innovation, economic development, and poverty reduction in Vietnam through participating in funding health and education projects... On that good bilateral foundation, Italy is one of Ho Chi Minh City's important trade and investment partners with a total two-way trade turnover in 2023 reaching nearly 590 million USD. Italy currently ranks 26th out of 122 countries and territories investing in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Enrico Padula, Consul General of Italy in Ho Chi Minh City, was pleased to note that over the past 50 years, the cooperative relationship between Italy and Vietnam has developed not only in the fields of diplomacy and politics but also in the fields of economics, culture, science and society.
