Việt NamViệt Nam01/08/2023

The investment in constructing the coastal road in La Gi town aims to gradually improve the technical infrastructure system, meeting the transportation and goods circulation needs of the people in the area. At the same time, it will be a driving force for the socio -economic development of the town and neighboring localities... Therefore, the investment in constructing the road is necessary and in line with the planning.

Investment in a coastal road is necessary.

Chairman of the People's Committee of La Gi town, Pham Trong Nhan, said: With 28km of coastline and beautiful natural scenery, La Gi has many favorable conditions for developing tourism and marine economy. However, currently, the local tourism industry has not developed to its full potential and advantages. Many coastal tourism projects still face difficulties in investment and construction due to the lack of convenient access roads. Therefore, to contribute to creating a distinctive landscape for the coastal city, developing the local trade and tourism service industry, and contributing to the implementation of the tasks under the theme of 2023 chosen by the Provincial Party Committee (14th term): "Urban beautification, preservation and protection of the environment, green, clean and beautiful landscape" associated with coordinating the successful organization of the National Tourism Year 2023 in Binh Thuan . Simultaneously connecting and modernizing the technical infrastructure system for the inner and outer coastal areas of La Gi to build a sustainable urban structure, creating resources for the formation of key projects to develop the coastal area, the town needs to invest in a road running along the coast. On the other hand, investing in this road not only contributes to the local economic development but also has particularly important significance for national defense and security, search and rescue, and climate change mitigation for the town and surrounding areas.

According to the survey of the coastal road's scale as outlined in the town's general planning project, it is quite long, approximately 18.6 km. Therefore, the Town People's Committee initially proposes investing in a section with a total length of about 5.32 km. However, due to the large scale of the road and the high total investment cost, the Town People's Committee plans to invest in phase 1 of the project, with a total length of approximately 2.95 km, during the 2023-2025 period. The project implementation time is scheduled for the end of the 2021-2025 period and will continue into the 2026-2030 period, with an estimated total investment of over 235 billion VND...

Ensure people have access to the sea area.

During a survey of the coastal road project in La Gi town at the end of July, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai affirmed that the investment in the construction of the coastal road aims to gradually complete the technical infrastructure system, meeting the needs of people in the area for travel and goods circulation. At the same time, it will be a driving force for the development of coastal tourism and urban areas, promoting socio-economic development of the town and neighboring localities; serving rescue operations, ensuring security and national defense. Therefore, the investment in the construction of the La Gi coastal road is necessary and in line with the planning. After the direct survey, Vice Chairman Nguyen Hong Hai requested La Gi town and relevant departments and agencies to continue researching and proposing a suitable project plan, noting that the scale of the coastal road plan must be adjusted synchronously, and the starting point needs to be harmoniously planned. At the same time, it is necessary to calculate the connection routes to the coastal road to ensure people's access to the coastal area, paying particular attention to drainage works. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that La Gi town, in its planning, identify the proposed location for a parking lot along the coastal road to serve the needs of tourists.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that the town needs to calculate the scale of the entire route according to the general scale, but it is not necessary to plan for a 49m width from the starting point to the end point; connectivity must be ensured. Regarding the Dinh River area, La Gi town should coordinate with the Department of Construction to study the possibility of a bridge over the river; the sections where embankment construction is planned must be ensured. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed with La Gi town's proposal regarding the investment scale, focusing on investing in the northern coastal axis of the town to bring tourism projects into operation and create momentum for development. However, La Gi town needs to have a suitable investment policy. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments and agencies to support the La Gi Town People's Committee in completing the next procedures to implement the La Gi coastal tourism road project.

Phase 1 of the project has a total length of approximately 2.95km, including a coastal tourist road of about 2.5km and Tran Khanh Du road of about 0.45km. Specifically, the tourist road starts at Le Quang Dinh road and ends at Tran Khanh Du road; the roadbed is 49m wide; the completed structure includes: asphalt concrete road surface; sidewalks; installation of electricity and drainage systems; embankment reinforcement; trees and parking areas at some necessary locations… Tran Khanh Du road starts at the coastal tourist road and ends at Hung Vuong road; the roadbed is 27m wide; the completed structure includes: asphalt concrete road surface; sidewalks; installation of electricity and drainage systems; trees along the route…
