In the early morning of November 2, authorities and local residents in Tuy Phong commune ( Lam Dong province) were still trying to find an 8th grade girl who was swept away by floodwaters after a chicken farm's reservoir in the area burst.

According to initial information, late on November 1, a large amount of water suddenly poured into the reservoir of a chicken farm on the mountain in Tuy Phong commune, causing the reservoir to burst, creating a large stream-like flow, sweeping away many objects and breaking electric poles. At that time, the water rose about 4-5m high, overflowing the bridge, completely cutting off traffic on both sides.
The incident caused a couple and a child to be swept away by the water. Fortunately, the couple were rescued in time, but the 8th grade girl went missing.

Speaking to SGGP Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Nu Thanh Loan, Secretary of Tuy Phong Commune Party Committee, said: "Currently, the water has receded, but rescue forces are still on duty to search for the child."
The scene of the incident showed that the area downstream of the reservoir was torn apart, creating a nearly 2m deep ravine, and many sections of the road were cut off. Local authorities have mobilized forces to search around the downstream area and at the same time verify the cause of the incident.

“The initial information we received was that there was a notice of water release, but the flow rate and specific time have not been determined. The fact that the water poured in so quickly was unexpected,” informed a representative of Tuy Phong Commune Party Committee.
As of early morning on November 2, the search was still underway. The official cause of the incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
