WMC 2025 took place over three days, from December 12th to 14th. The competition featured 290 contestants from nearly 30 countries and territories, including memory powerhouses such as the UK, Germany, the USA, Japan, China, India, and Mongolia. Contestants competed in 10 disciplines testing speed, accuracy, and neural endurance, including rapid number memorization, abstract imagery, and auditory memorization. The closing ceremony, awards presentation, and champion recognition will take place on the evening of December 14th.
Raymond Keene, President of the World Memory Council, commented: “I have witnessed the history of the competition for 34 years, but the energy and preparation of Vietnam this year have truly amazed me. With the application of new technology and a wonderful spirit of hospitality, I believe WMC 2025 will be the most emotional competition and create unprecedented records.”
Meanwhile, at the opening ceremony, Dr. Thang Van Phuc, former Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Interior , President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Record Holders Association, and Head of the Organizing Committee of the competition, stated that this is not only an international-level competition but also a place to inspire the spirit of learning and intellectual creativity in the new era. Vietnam will make its utmost efforts to ensure the competition is conducted transparently, honestly, and fairly.

In its first time hosting the World Music Competition (WMC), Vietnam's 2025 marked a revolutionary shift, replacing the concept of "manual scoring" with a comprehensive digital scoring and competition system. Results were displayed in real-time on LED screens, transforming the quiet atmosphere of the competition room into the breathtaking drama of a digital arena, where spectators could witness rankings changing every second, ensuring transparency and fairness.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also launched the "Flow of Wisdom" Rotating Trophy, initiated and crafted by Vietnam, with the spirit of "Passed by Nations - Raised by Champions." This symbolizes the spirit of victory and is an artistic heritage that honors the inheritance and connection of intellect across borders and generations.

Founded in 1991 by Tony Buzan and Raymond Keene, the World Memory Championship (WMC) is the world's oldest and most prestigious super memory competition. Vietnam's hosting of the WMC 2025 by the World Mind Sports Council (WMSC) not only affirms its capacity to organize world-class events but also realizes the vision of making Vietnam "The New Global Brain Hub".
WMC 2025 in Vietnam is jointly organized by the Vietnam Super Memory Organization, the World Records Alliance, and Tam Tri Luc Group, under the supervision of the International Council of Arbitration (GOMSA).
Experts believe that, with thorough preparation from the HITA community and the home advantage, the Vietnamese Memory Team has a historic opportunity to break 2-3 world records in their strongest categories.
