The Hmong Flute Festival and the Tớ Dày Flower Festival are scheduled to open at 8 PM on January 10, 2026, at the Central Stadium of Mù Cang Chải Commune, Lào Cai Province.

Key activities include the Hmong Flute Festival, the Tớ Dày Flower Festival, street parades, art programs, the Hmong Flute Competition, the Rice Cake Pounding Festival, spinning top performances, and many other folk games.

This year, the Hmong Flute Festival is expected to include performances of traditional costumes, bamboo pole dancing, and cultural exchanges between different ethnic groups.

Exhibitions, presentations, and sales of OCOP products, specialty agricultural products, products made from hawthorn, and spaces recreating traditional culture will be held from December 31, 2025 to January 20, 2026.

The stalls showcasing OCOP products, handicrafts, and traditional cuisine are arranged to create a focal point that attracts visitors.

Besides the Hmong Flute Festival, the Tớ Dày Flower Festival also features a series of cultural activities to celebrate the New Year.

This is an annual event rich in national cultural identity, attracting a large number of locals and tourists, contributing to promoting the image of the natural beauty and people of Mu Cang Chai.

Currently, Mu Cang Chai commune is rushing to complete preparations for the Hmong Flute Festival, the To Day Flower Festival, and a series of cultural activities to celebrate the New Year.

Traditional mouth organists in villages and communes are actively practicing and perfecting their ensemble, solo, and dance performances; young people are being mobilized to participate in exchanges aimed at preserving and passing on traditional performance skills.

Simultaneously, preparations for the Tớ Dày Flower Festival – a symbol of spring in the highlands – are also being carried out in a coordinated manner. The roads leading to the commune center are decorated with vibrant flags and flowers; local people are encouraged to preserve the landscape, protect the wildflowers, and assist tourists in taking photos and experiencing the festival.

To ensure the festival's safety, Mu Cang Chai commune has developed a plan to ensure security and order, regulate traffic, and prevent fires. The commune's health station has prepared personnel and supplies for first aid. The youth union has formed a volunteer force to assist tourists, guide them on tours, and promote environmental protection.

Communication efforts were intensified through public address systems, electronic portals, and tourism fanpages, creating a widespread impact. Villagers proactively renovated their homes, cleaned village roads, and prepared characteristic products for the festival.

With thorough and coordinated preparation from the government and people, the Mong Flute Festival, the Tớ Dày Flower Festival, and other activities celebrating the Spring of 2026 promise to bring a culturally rich space, creating a highlight to attract tourists and contributing to the socio-economic development of Mù Cang Chải in the new spring season.

With a strategic vision to build Mu Cang Chai into a comprehensively and sustainably developed area in the direction of "green - harmonious - unique and happy," the first Party Congress of the commune established a roadmap for the period 2025-2030.

Three key strategic breakthroughs have been clearly identified: developing human resources, enhancing the capacity of local people in tourism and economic activities; mobilizing and effectively utilizing resources, investing in synchronized infrastructure (transportation, digitalization, inter-regional connectivity); and focusing on developing tourism into a leading economic sector, making Mu Cang Chai a typical destination of the Northwest region.
