Ceremony to announce and present the President's decision to appoint Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers

(MPI) - On the afternoon of February 18, 2025, at the Presidential Palace,President Luong Cuong presided over the ceremony to announce and present the President's decision to appoint the positions of Deputy Prime Minister to comrades: Nguyen Chi Dung, Mai Van Chinh and Minister for the 2021-2026 term.

Attending the ceremony were Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Politburo members: Nguyen Hoa Binh, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister; Le Minh Hung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security. Party Central Committee members: Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; leaders of central departments, ministries and branches.

On the side of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, there were Deputy Ministers and leaders of a number of units under the Ministry.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other Party and State leaders presented flowers and congratulated the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung Mai Van Chinh and the newly appointed Ministers.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders and on his own behalf, President Luong Cuong warmly congratulated the six comrades who were trusted by the Central Committee to introduce and approved by the 15th National Assembly to hold very important new positions at the 9th extraordinary session. This is an honor and pride for each comrade, and at the same time a heavier task, a higher requirement and responsibility for the comrades to unite and organize with the Government and the Prime Minister to successfully carry out the very heavy task in 2025 and in the coming time.

The President emphasized that the comrades who were appointed to new positions this time are a recognition and high appreciation by the Party, State and people for their contributions and dedication throughout their working process. The six comrades appointed are all cadres with strong political will, good moral qualities, always dedicated and highly responsible; they are all members of the Party Central Committee with outstanding contributions and marks in performing their assigned duties and tasks.

The President also shared his thoughts on the newly appointed comrades, including Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung. According to the President, Comrade Nguyen Chi Dung is a cadre and leader with extensive experience in the economic field; in his nearly two terms as Minister of Planning and Investment, he has made many contributions to advising the Party and State in the fields of macroeconomics and investment attraction.

In the context that our entire Party, people and army are uniting and making efforts to overcome all difficulties and challenges, striving to compete, focusing on developing all resources, and determined to bring the country into a new era - an era of striving for rich and prosperous development, the President affirmed that the Party, State and people are placing their trust and great expectations on the Government in performing its functions, tasks and powers to bring the country to rapid and sustainable development.

The President requested the newly appointed comrades to continue to train and improve their political qualities, be absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the People; maintain revolutionary qualities and ethics, be exemplary in complying with and strictly implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's policies and laws. At the same time, they must constantly study and improve their capacity and qualifications in all aspects; uphold the spirit of self-criticism and criticism, solidarity, modesty, sincerity, and close attachment to comrades and the people.

The President believes that the comrades appointed this time will continue to promote the glorious tradition of the Government; good achievements from the working process, excellently complete the newly assigned tasks, worthy of the trust of the Party, State and people.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the comrades who received the appointment decision, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung thanked the Party, State and National Assembly for their attention, trust and confidence in introducing, electing and approving them to hold extremely important positions in the Government.

“We are aware of the great honor and pride for each individual, but also the heavy responsibility placed on our shoulders, how to work with the Government and the Prime Minister to fulfill the responsibility in extremely difficult times. Our country is striving to complete the tasks of 2025, complete the 5-year socio-economic plan 2021-2026; and prepare to bring the country into a new era, an era of rising up, building a rich and prosperous country”, the new Deputy Prime Minister shared.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung also promised the President, the Prime Minister, and the leaders of the Party and State that he would devote all his efforts, with aspiration, a bright mind, and a fiery heart, together with the Government, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, to make every effort to complete all assigned tasks, comply with the Constitution and laws of the State, as well as the direction of the Prime Minister./.
