What's interesting about this year's Southern Fruit Festival?

On the morning of May 21st, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Area and the Union of Friendship Organizations of Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of the 20th Southern Fruit Festival - Suoi Tien Farm Festival 2024.

According to Ms. Bui Thi To Trinh, Deputy General Director of Suoi Tien Cultural Tourism Joint Stock Company, the 20th Southern Fruit Festival, themed "Journey to Happy Farming," will take place from June 1st to August 31st.

The 20th Fruit Festival is expected to see an increase of approximately 20% in visitors.

This is a cultural and tourism event aimed at introducing visitors to the unique, rich, and diverse varieties of tropical fruits from different regions.

In addition, the festival is also an opportunity to honor the achievements of farmers in the agricultural sector, contributing to preserving the unique art of fruit carving and promoting the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people.

Ms. To Trinh further informed that the 19th Southern Fruit Festival welcomed approximately over 1.5 million visitors throughout the summer. This year, the number of visitors is expected to increase by about 20%, with the number of foreign tourists increasing by about 40%.

A new feature of the 2024 Fruit Festival is the addition of new activities to give visitors opportunities to interact, such as: a series of activities to jointly protect the green environment, promoting and introducing agricultural products from localities (OCOP)...

In addition, there are other special activities, such as the "Suoi Tien Farm - Breaking the Waves and Embracing Integration" fruit parade, showcasing a collection of unique and exotic fruits, a specialty fruit market, a fruit carving art competition, a horticultural festival, and various special art programs...

Visitors enjoy the "Suoi Tien Farm - Green Agricultural Tourism Model" garden, which covers more than 5 hectares and features over 30 plant species originating from countries around the world .

On this occasion, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist Area collaborated to inaugurate the "Friendship Garden" with the participation of consulates from 27 countries.

On Children's Day, June 1st, the event featured participation from the Vietnam-ASEAN Friendship Association, the Vietnam-India Friendship Association, the Vietnam-Indonesia Friendship Association, the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, and others, along with special artistic exchange programs.

All of this will bring a multinational touch to the festival season, making it even more impressive, enhancing internationalization, and strengthening people-to-people friendship and cooperation in foreign relations between Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

To celebrate International Children's Day on June 1st, Suoi Tien Cultural Tourist Area is offering 100% free entrance tickets for children under 1.4m accompanied by their parents, and a 50% discount on entrance tickets for all children visiting in groups or with their schools.

From June 2nd to August 30th, there will be a 50% discount on entrance tickets for outstanding students with original certificates of merit from the 2023-2024 school year.
