The first River Culture Festival in Can Tho is about to officially take place

On the afternoon of December 1, Can Tho City People's Committee held a press conference to inform about the Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025.

According to the organizers, the event aims to create a cultural and tourism highlight at the end of the year, welcoming the new year 2026. At the same time, it contributes to improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people.

The festival is also an opportunity to introduce and promote the unique river culture of the Mekong Delta to domestic and foreign tourists; spread the message of environmental protection, towards sustainable tourism development.

This year, Can Tho aims to increase the effective exploitation of waterway tourism products, develop inner-city tours and connections with Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta provinces. The city also aims to expand river tourism links with countries along the Mekong River in the coming time.

Can Tho River Culture Festival 2025 with the theme "Can Tho - Colors of Rivers", takes place from December 26, 2025 to January 1, 2026 at Ben Ninh Kieu Park, Song Hau Park and neighboring areas.

During the festival, many activities will be held such as: opening program; art performances for visitors every night; photo exhibition "Rhythm of life on the river - The West past and present"; model and landscape decoration; sailing and SUP boat racing.

In addition, there will be a space to display OCOP products and typical cuisine; a culinary promotion program; activities to stimulate waterway tourism and programs to protect the river environment. The festival will close on January 1, 2026.
