The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival will take place from October 29 to November 2 at the Army Theater (south) and Ho Chi Minh City Opera House.

The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival is a practical activity to welcome Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress; celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (1950-2025), and at the same time launch the "Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year" to contribute to strengthening cooperation in the field of music between the two countries.

With the theme “Music Convergence and Spread”, the Festival is a festival for musicians, artists, singers and music lovers, aiming to honor and promote new musical works and projects, continuing to encourage creative exploration in the fields of composition, performance and music training.

This is also an opportunity to meet, exchange and interact in music between domestic and international composers and performing artists, meeting the public's increasing demand for art.

The works and performances participating in the Festival focus on reflecting the themes of the Party, Uncle Ho, the current cause of national construction and protection, love for the homeland, country, culture, traditional Vietnamese people and in the era of national growth; culture and international friendship.

The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival includes two areas: Music Works Festival; Vietnamese Voice Festival and Instrument Solos (Performance Festival).

For the Music Works Festival, participating works must be new works composed in 2024 and 2025 by members of the Vietnam Musicians' Association from branches and musician groups nationwide and have not participated in any competitions of central organizations, departments and branches. The genre of participating works includes songs or ensembles, solo instruments; duration not exceeding 7 minutes/work.

For the Festival of performances by singers and artists, the genre of the performance is song or instrumental solo; the work performed in the performance is a Vietnamese work chosen by the singer or artist, with high technical content; the participating artist is a member or non-member of the Vietnam Musicians Association and is selected by the branch to be introduced to participate.

The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival attracted over 600 musicians and artists from 38 Vietnam Musicians Associations from provinces and cities across the country, bringing 185 outstanding performances in 7 competition programs.

Among them, there are many famous artists such as: Meritorious Artist To Nga, Meritorious Artist Tien Lam, Meritorious Artist Que Thuong, Meritorious Artist Thanh Nhan, Meritorious Artist Y Joel Knul, Meritorious Artist Thanh Huong, Meritorious Artist Thai Bao; and singers: Tung Duong, Hoang Nghiep, Tran Hong Nhung, Dieu Thao...

The Festival's award structure includes: A and B prizes for musical works participating in the Festival; Gold and Silver medals for performances by artists, singers and ensembles.

Within the framework of the Festival, in order to create a forum for exchange, discussion and performance of new musical compositions by Vietnamese and Chinese musicians, singers and artists, the Vietnam Musicians Association coordinated with the Guangxi Academy of Arts (China) to compose, stage and perform a Vietnam-China symphony music program on the closing night (November 2) at the City Theater.

The program was composed by Vietnamese and Chinese musicians, including 4 movements with 8 symphonies and 2 songs.
