Railway Traffic Police Team No. 2 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department - Ministry of Public Security ), Railway Safety Management Department II (Vietnam Railway Authority), City Traffic Police Department, Lien Chieu District Police, Hoa Vang District Police and Quang Nam - Da Nang Railway Joint Stock Company have coordinated with local authorities to inspect and handle violations of railway safety corridors and self-opened paths causing unsafe railway traffic through the area.

According to the authorities, there are currently 9 self-made paths across the railway in Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts. Every day, people living along both sides of the railway and in neighboring residential areas use them to travel, including self-made paths with a very large volume of traffic.
For example, the self-opened path at Km779+500 in Group 43, Hoa Hiep Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District is located in the middle of a densely populated residential area, with limited visibility and a large number of people and vehicles. Although there are 24/7 security guards, there is always a potential risk of traffic safety. Another self-opened path at Km801 passes through Dong Hoa residential area, Hoa Chau commune, Hoa Vang district, and two new self-opened paths have emerged at Km806 through Hoa Tien commune, Hoa Vang district. Of which, the self-opened path at Km801 "has a history" of being located right in the middle of a residential area with a large number of people and has been the site of many serious traffic accidents in recent times.
As for the newly-emerged spontaneous paths in Hoa Tien commune, there is a risk of traffic insecurity and a high risk of railway traffic accidents. Not only are they located in curved sections of the road, out of sight, but these spontaneous paths are also lined with boulders and waste concrete to create paths across the railway. This not only affects the railway infrastructure, but also creates dangerous traffic situations when people and vehicles intentionally cross the railway.
According to Mr. Vo Quoc Anh, Acting Head of Inspection and Safety Division II, Vietnam Railway Authority, the results of the on-site survey and inspection showed that it is necessary to fence and remove the self-opened walkway at Km779+500 to help prevent traffic accidents. Fencing and removing the self-opened walkways at Km779+500 helps prevent traffic accidents, without affecting the travel of people in the area. At the same time, thereby forming new travel habits that ensure safety while still ensuring connectivity.
Based on the actual records and opinions of the authorities, the representative of the Traffic Police Team of Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts said that they will report to the superior leaders to advise the People's Committee of Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang districts to develop a plan to implement fencing, remove self-opened paths and prevent and handle violations of the North-South railway safety corridor through the area.
For Hoa Vang district, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Hai Hoang, Deputy Captain of Railway Traffic Police Team No. 2 (Department 6, Traffic Police Department) requested functional agencies to urge local units and forces to promptly prevent and handle cases of violations of railway safety corridors; close and remove self-opened paths across railways that cause traffic insecurity, especially newly-opened paths that pose a high risk of traffic accidents.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Dang Phuoc Thuy, Head of the Traffic Police Team of Hoa Vang District Police, based on the discussion and agreement with units such as the Traffic Police Department, Vietnam Railway Department, City Police, the Traffic Police Team of Hoa Vang District Police will report to the leaders of the District Police to request the People's Committee of Hoa Vang District and the People's Committees of communes to inspect and review all self-opened paths and locations with potential risks of railway traffic accidents. From there, there will be a basis for developing plans and plans to implement fencing and remove self-opened paths, ensuring order and safety of railway traffic through the district.
Mr. Hoang Anh Dung, Deputy Director of Quang Nam - Da Nang Railway Joint Stock Company, said that currently, on the railway line through the city, there are still 9 self-opened paths that cause traffic insecurity and pose a very high risk of traffic accidents. In order to effectively ensure order in the railway corridor and eliminate self-opened paths across the railway, the City People's Committee has issued a document directing the authorities of districts/counties with railway lines passing through to strengthen the implementation of ensuring order and safety in railway traffic and establish land boundaries for railways, inspect, review, and study the implementation of closing self-opened paths. However, up to now, on the railway line, there are still many self-opened paths and violations of railway safety corridors...
