On the afternoon of January 16, a source of VietNamNet reporter said that the authorities are investigating the case of a male TikToker who accused him of being "kicked out of a restaurant because he was in a wheelchair" at a pho restaurant in Hanoi .

Previously, posting on his personal Facebook page, TikToker Vu Minh Lam said that he and his girlfriend went to a pho restaurant near his house but were refused by the staff "our restaurant does not have staff to carry someone like you".

At the second pho restaurant, this TikToker said that this was a familiar restaurant, the two of them ate normally. The seats were small and narrow, his wheelchair was slightly squeezed into the owner’s space.

"She stood up abruptly and scolded the staff, "Who let this kind of person eat here?" The staff said, "He often eats here and normally sits like this." She got even more excited and said, "If I can't sell anything, then I'll stand."...", Mr. Lam wrote.

In response to the above accusation, the owner of the chicken pho restaurant confirmed that Mr. Lam was a regular customer, who usually ate pho in the evening. A few days ago, Mr. Lam and his girlfriend came to the restaurant around noon. The restaurant was open as usual.

Mr. Lam and his girlfriend sat at the first table, behind the owner, next to the food scale area. Another person (older) reminded Mr. Lam not to sit in this position next time, as it would make it difficult to sell.

"She was still smiling and eating normally, but posting on social media implying that we were insulting her was incorrect," said the restaurant representative.

The restaurant owner affirmed that he "never uses vulgar language to chase away customers, especially people with disabilities." At the same time, the restaurant owner also extracted surveillance camera footage of the time Mr. Lam and his girlfriend came in to eat.
