Militia forces report their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh on the occasion of the Traditional Day.

Kinhtedothi - On the morning of March 25th, the Ministry of National Defense, in coordination with and under the direction of the Hanoi Capital Command, organized a ceremony to report achievements to President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Militia and Self-Defense Forces (March 28, 1935 - March 28, 2025).

Attending the ceremony were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Lieutenant General Tran Ngoc Tuan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Hanoi Capital Command; Major General Dao Van Nhan - Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Hanoi Capital Command; and representatives from the Ministry of National Defense.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation from the Hanoi Capital Command respectfully presented to President Ho Chi Minh the outstanding achievements and successes of the past.

According to Major General Dao Van Nhan, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Hanoi Capital Command, over the past 90 years, along with the militia and self-defense forces nationwide, the Hanoi militia and self-defense forces, under the leadership of the City Party Committee and the Resistance Committee, have developed rapidly, truly becoming the core force protecting rallies and demonstrations of revolutionary masses; protecting the Party's leadership organs; and serving as a shock force alongside the main army and local troops in attacking and destroying the enemy, seizing power for the revolution in the capital.

In implementing the Party's guidelines and policies on building the people's armed forces and a national defense system, over the past years, with political determination, the Hanoi Capital Command has advised the City Party Committee, the City People's Council, and the City People's Committee to focus on building an increasingly "strong and widespread" militia and self-defense force. Along with this, it has effectively implemented programs and projects, especially Program No. 09-CTr/TU of the City Party Committee (17th term) on "Strengthening national defense and security potential, maintaining political stability and social order and safety in Hanoi City during the 2021-2025 period".

To date, Hanoi has organized over 1,594 militia and self-defense units with nearly 100,000 members, with the percentage of Party members reaching over 22.9%, establishing 10 platoots and 156 squads of permanent militia, including 100% of key communes, wards, and towns in terms of national defense having permanent militia squads.

Upholding the traditions of a unit awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces, the officers and soldiers of the Hanoi militia and self-defense forces have proactively and actively coordinated with other forces to ensure political security and social order in the area; they are the core force in preventing, combating, and mitigating the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics, and in search and rescue operations...

Throughout 90 years of building, fighting, and maturing, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnamese militia and self-defense forces in general, and the militia and self-defense forces of the capital in particular, have always been united, loyal to the Fatherland, to the People, and to the revolutionary cause of the Party.

Throughout the revolutionary periods, over 370 collectives and 284 individuals have been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and the State. In 2015, the Vietnam Militia and Self-Defense Force was awarded the Gold Star Order by the President of Vietnam.

To successfully fulfill their duties and contribute to ushering the country into a new era, before the sacred spirit of Uncle Ho, the officers and soldiers of the armed forces of the Capital City pledge that, under any conditions or circumstances, the officers and soldiers of the regular forces and militia of the Capital City will remain absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, and the People; constantly enhance revolutionary vigilance, sharpen their fighting spirit; consciously cultivate and refine revolutionary ethics; and protect the Party, the State, the People, and the socialist system.
