On December 2, President of the Football Association of Thailand, Nualphan Lamsam (Madam Pang), visited the training session of the Thai U23 team in preparation for the 2025 SEA Games, where the goal is to win a gold medal.
Sharing with the media, Madam Pang said: “I always follow the team closely. The SEA Games are not easy, because the teams in the region are all making progress, and some countries even temporarily suspend their domestic tournaments to focus on the championship goal. However, as the President of the Federation, I trust the coaching staff led by coach Thawatchai Damrong-Ongtrakul and all the players. We have not won a gold medal for 8 years. This year, the whole team has a great opportunity and determination. However, we cannot underestimate Timor-Leste. In the second match, U22 Thailand will meet Singapore and we aim to top the group.”

She also admitted that the pressure is always present: “Football is popular both in Thailand and abroad, so the players are under a lot of pressure. The gold medal is highly anticipated. There will definitely be a reward, but I am not thinking about that at the moment.”
Madam Pang highly appreciated the performance of the players, especially Seksan Ratri, who just scored for Rayong FC. At the same time, she thanked the clubs for agreeing to release their players for the SEA Games even though this is not the FIFA Days.
“We will do our best. We cannot miss this tournament, especially since Thailand is the host. I hope the team will regain the SEA Games championship and hope that Thai fans will accompany and cheer for us,” she emphasized.
U23 Thailand will open the 33rd SEA Games in Group A with a match against Timor-Leste at Rajamangala Stadium at 7:00 p.m. today (December 3).
