On the morning of January 18th, the Association for the Support of Disabled People and Orphans in Hoc Mon District, in coordination with the Association for the Support of Disabled People and Orphans in Ho Chi Minh City and the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, organized the 24th "Spring Tree Lighting Up Compassion" program - 2025.

The program "Spring Trees Light Up Kindness" 2025 awarded 120 gifts with a total value of 130 million VND.
The program distributed 120 gifts worth a total of 130 million VND to people with disabilities and orphans in Hoc Mon district. Of these, the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper donated 50 cash gifts (1 million VND each).

Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, Head of the Events and Brand Development Department of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, said that for many years, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has carried out many social activities to support the community. With the "Spring Tree Lighting Up Compassion" program in Hoc Mon district, this is the second time Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has partnered with the newspaper.
"The gifts that the Lao Dong Newspaper gave to the disadvantaged today, although not large in material terms, are hopefully spiritually encouraging so that those in difficult circumstances always feel that there is a community by their side to share, thereby helping them live better and improve their lives," said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung.

As one of the households receiving gifts, Mrs. Truong Thi Kim Tuyen (residing in Hoc Mon district) got up early to bring her two grandchildren to attend the program. Mrs. Tuyen emotionally said that her son passed away in 2022 due to heart disease and COVID-19, and her daughter-in-law then left, leaving her to take care of her two grandchildren. In the small house, the three grandmothers and grandchildren depend on each other and live off her small business.
"My grandchildren are very obedient. Every time they see me sad, they encourage me to try harder. They are the motivation for me to continue trying to live a better life. In such a situation, I am very happy to receive Tet gifts at the end of the year," said Ms. Tuyen emotionally.
