A salesperson at the Dien May Xanh electronics supermarket chain said that this time of year is always a peak in laptop sales. "Compared to the beginning of the year, the number of customers coming into the store asking about laptops has increased significantly. Perhaps it's because it's close to the start of the new school year, and laptops are a modern 'learning tool,' so demand is high. During these months, we never worry about not meeting our sales targets," the salesperson said.

According to this employee, laptop sales during this period have doubled compared to the same period last year. Similarly, at FPT Shop, an enthusiastic employee stated: "While in the first half of the year, out of 10 customers I advised, only 3 decided to buy, now out of 10 customers who come in, 7 'close the deal'."

According to the survey, Windows computers priced between 15-20 million VND are the most sought-after due to their affordable price range, suitable for most customer segments. Apple's Macbook line, priced from 18-40 million VND, is also attractive because of its beautiful design and modern, trendy interface.

"Competing" with each other to offer incentives to stimulate consumer demand.

To stimulate consumer demand for these products, electronics supermarkets and retail stores are simultaneously launching promotional programs and discounts to help new students prepare as best as possible for the new academic year.

According to a survey conducted by reporters at several electronics supermarkets such as Dien May Xanh, FPT Shop, Hoang Ha Mobile, etc., most systems are competing to offer discounts ranging from 1 to 5 million VND depending on the brand and model. In the mainstream segment, some laptop models such as the ASUS Vivobook are discounted by nearly 7 million VND to 8.49 million VND; the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14IAL7 82SD006PVN or RedmiBook 15 are discounted by 5 million VND…

For new students needing a computer for their studies, compact, portable laptops with moderate configurations like Core i3 or Core i5 are a reasonable choice. For customers who need a laptop for both studying and entertainment, Core i7 laptops or gaming laptops are worthwhile options.

Many deals on laptops

Hoang Ha Mobile retail system has just launched a Back to School promotion program for laptops, aiming to help new university students choose suitable products. Accordingly, laptops in the program will be discounted by 10% (maximum 10 million VND) for new university students with an average GPA of 9 or higher. For those with an average GPA below 9, the discount will be 5%.

FPT Shop is also offering attractive promotions. From now until October 31st, students can own a laptop for as little as 5.99 million VND. Especially, new students of 2024 with higher scores on the National High School Graduation Exam will receive greater discounts. Specifically, new students with an average score of 9 or higher will receive an additional 10% discount, with a maximum discount of 8 million VND. If the average score is equal to or less than 9, students will still receive a 5% discount.
