On May 26th, a Qatar Airways plane encountered turbulence while en route from Doha to Ireland, resulting in 12 injuries.
According to an announcement from Dublin Airport (Ireland) on May 26th, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner belonging to Qatar Airways experienced turbulence while flying over Turkish airspace; however, the aircraft landed safely at Dublin Airport on schedule at 13:00 (local time - 19:00 Hanoi time).
The aircraft received emergency landing assistance from airport police, the fire department, and local rescue teams.

According to reports, after the plane encountered turbulence in Turkish airspace, 12 people on board were injured, including 6 passengers and 6 crew members.
A passenger on the plane described the incident to a local television station, saying it lasted less than 20 seconds and occurred while the flight attendants were serving food and drinks.
Qatar Airways has confirmed that several passengers and crew members sustained minor injuries during the flight and are receiving medical attention. Qatar Airways declined to comment on the turbulence but said the issue is under internal investigation.
The incident occurred five days after a Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore was forced to land in Bangkok due to severe turbulence, resulting in the death of a 73-year-old British man and leaving dozens of others in intensive care.
According to a 2021 study by the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board, turbulence-related aviation accidents are the most common type. Approximately 65,000 aircraft experience moderate turbulence annually in the U.S., and about 5,500 experience severe turbulence. However, these numbers are likely to increase.
Paul Williams, a professor of atmospheric science at the University of Reading in the UK, told CNN in 2022 that he believed climate change was increasing the frequency of turbulence experienced by aircraft.
