Integrating ESG standards into business strategy is no longer an option, but a strategic requirement for businesses to enhance their competitiveness and achieve sustainable development. Recognizing this, Meey Group has begun its ESG journey with concrete and practical actions.
"The ESG Gamble": Gains and Losses
The adoption of ESG standards is increasingly becoming an important indicator for assessing the sustainable development of a business in the context of globalization and digital transformation today.
The benefits of ESG are undeniable. Businesses that effectively practice ESG can reduce production costs, increase profits, and enhance their competitive advantage in the international market. Furthermore, this helps improve brand reputation, attract investment, expand markets, and contribute to the nation's Sustainable Development Goals.
However, the path to ESG implementation is far from smooth. Vietnamese businesses are facing numerous significant challenges. According to experts, the main obstacles include high initial investment costs, financial constraints, and a lack of knowledge and specialized personnel in ESG.

One of the biggest challenges is maintaining data quality for ESG reports, as sustainability factors are often difficult to quantify. Hiring external consultants sometimes yields limited results due to a lack of alignment with the company's operational practices.
According to Ms. Dinh Thi Quynh Van, Chairwoman of PwC Vietnam, ESG is no longer an option but has become a strategic requirement. Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Director of Sustainable Development Consulting atFPT Digital, also emphasized that when participating in the global value chain, it is mandatory for Vietnamese businesses to provide transparent ESG reports.
ESG and Double Conversion: The "Guidelines" for Meey Group's Breakthrough
As a proptech company, Meey Group quickly recognized the importance of integrating ESG into its development strategy. Seeing innovation, digitalization, and green practices as inevitable trends, the company began its ESG journey with concrete and practical actions.
Recently, Meey Group organized an ESG training course for its Board of Directors, Leadership Team, and Management staff to raise awareness and promote sustainable practices throughout the company. The post-course survey results showed positive outcomes.
Accordingly, 96% of participating members were aware of the importance of ESG for Meey Group's sustainable development; 65% of departments expressed confidence in implementing ESG initiatives into their operations.
Speaking about this direction, Ms. Nguyen Ly Kieu Anh, General Director of Meey Group, said: "We consider the transition towards ESG not only a task but also an opportunity to enhance our competitiveness and open up new markets. Building a solid ESG foundation from basic operations, improving the capacity of our team, and providing in-depth training are our top priorities in the coming period."

Alongside the encouraging results, Meey Group also frankly acknowledges the obstacles that need to be overcome. An internal survey revealed that 85% of employees felt a lack of specific processes and guidelines, 66% lacked data and measurement tools, and 50% believed the company lacked dedicated ESG personnel. The most pressing concerns included job security and employee benefits (96%), privacy and data protection (88%), and training and development (88%).
To address these challenges, Meey Group will prioritize actions such as ensuring data security and privacy, while providing transparent and honest information to investors. In the long term, the company will focus on building a solid ESG foundation, developing the capabilities of its staff, and organizing in-depth ESG training courses for all employees.
Given that ESG will be the "passport" for businesses to maintain orders and enhance brand image in the next 5-10 years, Meey Group's initial steps demonstrate proactiveness and strategic vision, aligning with global trends and Vietnam's sustainable development orientation.
