According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, on December 13th and 14th, due to the influence of a cold front combined with upper-level wind convergence, widespread rain and cold weather will occur in the North and North Central regions of Vietnam.

Due to the impact of the cold air mass, the weather in many areas has deteriorated, accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds on land and at sea, posing a high risk of dangerous weather phenomena.

Inland, the northeast wind will gradually strengthen to level 3-4, level 4-5 in coastal areas, and level 6 in some places, with gusts up to level 7-8. Northern Vietnam will experience cold weather, with scattered rain and showers, and maximum temperatures generally ranging from 21-24 degrees Celsius.

On the night of December 13th, mountainous and hilly areas experienced intense cold, with some high mountain areas experiencing severe cold, and some areas in the Northern Delta experiencing intense cold.

The North Central region began to experience cold weather from the night of December 13th.

The forecast for December 13th indicates moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms in the Northeast region, the western part of Phu Tho province, and the eastern part of Son La province. Rainfall amounts are expected to be generally 25-50mm, with some areas receiving over 90mm.

On the afternoon and night of December 13th, moderate to heavy rain fell from Thanh Hoa to Hue City, with rainfall generally ranging from 20 to 50mm, and in some localized areas exceeding 80mm.

On the night of December 13th, Da Nang City and the eastern part of Quang Ngai province experienced rain and moderate rain; rainfall was generally 10-20mm, with some areas receiving over 40mm. From December 14th onwards, heavy rain in these areas is expected to gradually decrease.

At sea, due to the influence of the cold air mass, strong northeasterly winds of force 6 have appeared in the eastern part of the North East Sea. The sea area from Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City has strong northeasterly winds of force 5, sometimes force 6, gusting to force 7-8; rough seas, waves 2.5 - 3.5m high.

From noon and afternoon of December 13th to the night of December 13th, the northern East Sea (including the Hoang Sa sea area) will experience strong northeasterly winds of force 7-8, gusting to force 9-10; the sea will be rough, with waves 4.0-6.0m high.

During the same period, the Gulf of Tonkin experienced strong northeasterly winds of force 6-7, sometimes force 8, gusting to force 9; rough seas with waves 2.0-4.0m high. By late afternoon and night of December 13th, the sea area from southern Quang Tri to Ca Mau, the central East Sea and the southwestern East Sea (including the sea area west of the Truong Sa archipelago) experienced strong northeasterly winds of force 6, sometimes force 7, gusting to force 8-9; rough seas with waves 3.0-5.0m high.

Additionally, on December 13th, both day and night, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in the South China Sea (including the Spratly Islands), the sea area from Ca Mau to An Giang, and the southern part of the Gulf of Thailand. During thunderstorms, there is a risk of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

Hanoi will be cloudy, with moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms during the day; showers in some areas at night. The northeast wind will gradually strengthen to level 3-4. It will be cold. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. The lowest temperature will be 14-16°C, and the highest 20-22°C.

The northeastern region will be cloudy, with moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms during the day, and very heavy rain in some areas; scattered showers at night. Northeast winds will gradually strengthen to level 3-4, level 4-5 in coastal areas, and level 6 in some places, with gusts up to level 7-8. It will be cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold; particularly in the mountainous and midland regions, it will be very cold at night, with some mountainous areas experiencing extreme cold.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. The lowest temperature will be 13-16 degrees Celsius, 9-12 degrees Celsius in mountainous and hilly areas, and below 5 degrees Celsius in some places. The highest temperature will be 18-21 degrees Celsius, and above 21 degrees Celsius in some places.

The South Central Coast region will be cloudy, with scattered rain and thunderstorms in the north during the day, and rain, moderate rain, and locally heavy rain and thunderstorms at night; the south will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. Northeast winds will be 2-3 Beaufort during the day, gradually strengthening to 3-4 Beaufort at night. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. Minimum temperatures will be 21-24°C, with some areas in the south exceeding 24°C. Maximum temperatures will be 27-30°C, with some areas in the south exceeding 30°C.

The Central Highlands will be cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas. Northeast winds will be at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind. The lowest temperature will be 17-20 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature will be 26-29 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 29 degrees Celsius.

Southern Vietnam will be cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms in some areas. Northeast winds will be at level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind. The lowest temperature will be 22-25 degrees Celsius, with some areas in the East experiencing temperatures below 22 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature will be 30-33 degrees Celsius.

Ho Chi Minh City will be cloudy with sunny days and no rain at night. Northeast wind at level 2-3. Lowest temperature 23-25 ​​degrees Celsius. Highest temperature 31-33 degrees Celsius.
