On December 5, Google announced the Year in Search 2025 list, reflecting the trends and information that Vietnamese people are most interested in and search for in 2025.

This list includes 10 topics: General Trends, Photo Making, Movies (General), Vietnamese Movies, Concerts, Songs, News, How To, What Is It and Travel .

Notably, the movie “Red Rain” appeared simultaneously in three rankings: General Trends, Movies (General) and Vietnamese Movies.

In the top Vietnamese movie searches, after “Red Rain” are “Ancestral House”, “Ghost Lamp”, “Ghost in the Palace” and “The Four Guardians”.

In the concert category, a series of programs such as “V Concert” and “Fatherland in the Heart” held the highest positions. In the “Songs” category, songs with Vietnamese elements such as “Bac bling”, “Con gi dep hon”, “Noi dau trung hoa binh ” attracted a large number of searches, along with youthful songs such as “Mat ket ket” and “Tai sinh”.

According to Google, 2025 is the year that will witness a clear change in Vietnamese people's AI-related search behavior. Instead of asking the question "What is AI?", users will switch to AI usage trends such as "How to make AI videos ", "Create Gemini photos", "Restore old photos".

Data shows that AI is increasingly becoming a familiar tool that users use in learning, creativity and work, along with Vietnamese culture and identity being at the top of searches on charts from movies to music and art events.

Google's previous e-Conomy SEA 2025 report showed that Vietnam leads the Southeast Asia region with 81% of users interacting with AI daily and 83% actively learning about this technology.

Search data in 2025 also reflects the openness and initiative of Vietnamese people in grasping information and trends on social networks. In the topic “What is”, the keyword “A80” is at the top.

For the topic “News”, users are highly interested in weather developments and major storms of the year. Data related to Typhoon Wipha, Typhoon Kalmaegi, Typhoon Kajiki, Typhoon No. 10 and Typhoon No. 11 are among the most searched.

Additionally, “Travel” was also a prominent search topic with the top 10 most searched destinations all being domestic locations.

Leading the list is Da Lat, followed by An Giang, Mui Ne, Da Nang, Ha Long, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ca Mau, Phu Quoc and Vung Tau. This trend shows that Vietnamese people are prioritizing trips that connect with nature and local culture.
