Three years after making her mark in the Top 4 of folk music at the Sao Mai 2022 contest, singer Phuong Nga has just officially released her debut MV called " Where my childhood comes back ".
The MV " Where my childhood comes back " directed by Duong Lan Huong, carries a strong personal touch and real-life emotions. It is a deep gratitude that singer Phuong Nga wants to send to her family - the source of love and a peaceful place to return to for her.
Through rustic melodies and nostalgic images, Phuong Nga leads viewers back to childhood memories: mother's lullaby, the figure of a hard-working father, the hometown river and peaceful fields.
Sharing about her musical journey after Sao Mai in 2022, Phuong Nga said that she had received many invitations, but decided to step back to take care of her small family. The experience of being a mother not only helped her mature, but also deepened the musical emotions in each song.
Talking about the content choice for her first MV, Phuong Nga shared: "I chose to sing about my mother, my childhood, my family - because those are the things I am living and feeling most clearly. After becoming a mother, I understand more about my mother's love and silent sacrifice. The song is my gratitude to my mother, and also an emotional bridge with those who are mothers and children."
With " Where my childhood comes back ", Phuong Nga not only affirms her own color in folk music, but also conveys a message about family affection - a sacred and sustainable value in the midst of modern life.
When asked about how to make her own mark in the folk music genre – where there are already many famous artists – Phuong Nga affirmed: "Each artist has their own unique quality, and I believe the difference comes from life experience. As a young person, a woman, a mother, I sing with true emotions and the rhythm of life of my generation. I do not try to innovate too much, but keep the simplicity, closeness, and convey with sincerity."
