Improving quality and innovating tourism products in craft villages.

On December 12th, in Can Tho City, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) organized a workshop on improving the quality and innovating tourism products related to traditional craft villages.

On December 12th, in Can Tho City, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) organized a workshop on improving the quality and innovating tourism products related to traditional craft villages.

According to the National Tourism Administration, Vietnam has a diverse system of craft village tourism destinations based on the exploitation of many types of craft villages. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , there are currently 5,400 craft villages and villages with crafts nationwide, including 263 traditional crafts and 1,975 recognized craft villages and traditional craft villages.

Tourism has contributed to making traditional craft villages attractive destinations for tourists. Hundreds of craft villages are located throughout the country, stretching from North to South, regularly welcoming both domestic and international tourists.

Many traditional craft villages, each with its own unique characteristics, offer a variety of activities and types of tourism, such as handicrafts and fine arts; textiles, embroidery, and other crafts; cuisine; and agricultural production combined with ecotourism. Many travel companies have chosen these craft villages as indispensable tourist destinations in developing tour programs and designing tourism products for both domestic and international visitors.

According to Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Administration, the workshop aims to analyze trends, identify opportunities and challenges to improve the quality and innovate in craft village tourism, create a unique mark for Vietnamese tourism, and create momentum to contribute positively to the socio-economic development of rural areas.

In addition, experts and travel companies will propose solutions to connect tour routes and coordinate with localities to organize new handicraft and agricultural experience packages. These products will be widely promoted to domestic and international tourists through media systems, trade fairs, and trade and tourism promotion events.
