The "Sunshine on the Mountains" event was held in Lao Cai province for over 600 students and teachers from Bac Ha Secondary and High School in Bac Ha district. The event was a communication activity aimed at inspiring and encouraging students to overcome difficulties and pursue their dreams; spreading the message "Ethnic minority women should confidently take control of their lives."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet – Member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union, Director of the Vietnam Women's Museum, expressed her delight in sharing the outstanding achievements of Bac Ha district, including the establishment of 8 reliable support centers with nearly 130 members and 13 "Leaders of Change" clubs in schools. The efforts of Project 8 have begun to bring positive impacts to the lives of women and children in ethnic minority, mountainous, and remote areas. “We have seen a strong transformation in the awareness and actions of women, from the family to society. To achieve these results, I sincerely thank the close attention and guidance of the Party committees and local authorities, as well as the close coordination between the Women's Union at all levels, and other departments, agencies, and organizations,” Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet emphasized.

Mr. Tran Xuan Thao, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ha district, also shared: “Project 8 has brought many opportunities and hopes for equality and development to ethnic minorities and people in mountainous areas. Especially for students, the 'Leaders of Change' club model has helped them acquire the necessary knowledge and skills.”

Within the framework of the event, a "Confident and Shining" exchange program took place with two special guests, young people from ethnic minority groups, sharing their stories of "breaking through prejudice," striving to shine and spread positive energy in their communities: Sung Thi So, a Mong ethnic minority from Yen Bai province, currently working at a law firm in Hanoi; and H'Nen Nie, an Ede ethnic minority from Dak Lak province, currently a student at the University of Foreign Languages, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Ms. Sung Thi So, a Mong ethnic woman from Yen Bai province and a special guest at the event, shared essential life skills with the students.
Also at the event, the exhibition "My Dream," organized by the Vietnam Women's Museum, was inaugurated. The exhibition features stories and shared experiences of women and children in mountainous regions who have been striving to overcome gender barriers through various effective activities of Project 8, most notably the "Leaders of Change" model established in schools in Lao Cai, Gia Lai, Dien Bien, Quang Binh , and many other localities nationwide.
Delegates and students visited the "My Dream" exhibition organized by the Vietnam Women's Museum.
The paintings depicting the realities, barriers, dreams, and aspirations of students at Bac Ha Secondary and High School (Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province) and Phan Boi Chau Secondary School (Chu Puh district, Gia Lai province) in the exhibition carry a powerful message calling for collective support for ethnic minority and mountainous women and children in their journey to eliminate gender barriers and affirm their position in the family and society.
