The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, November 12th, that Russian armed forces repelled five Ukrainian attacks in the Donetsk direction over the past 24 hours, inflicting heavy casualties on Ukrainian troops.
"In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Task Force repelled five enemy attacks near the villages of Kurdyumovka and Klishcheevka in Donetsk with the support of air and artillery. The Ukrainian armed forces suffered losses of up to 250 servicemen, including killed and wounded, three armored combat vehicles and three pickup trucks," the Russian Ministry of Defense stated.
In addition, Ukraine's losses included one Polish-made Krab self-propelled howitzer, one American-made M119 howitzer, three D-30 howitzers, and one D-20 howitzer.
Additionally, in the Kupyansk direction, Russian troops conducted air and artillery attacks to repel two assaults by Ukrainian assault groups of the 54th Mechanized Brigade near the village of Zagoruykovka in the Kharkiv region, resulting in 40 Ukrainian soldiers killed and wounded.
Russian troops also repelled two Ukrainian attacks in the direction of Lyman, resulting in 210 Ukrainian soldiers killed or wounded.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, an attack was repelled near the village of Nikolskoe in Donetsk. Ukrainian troops were shelled near the village of Novomikhailovka and the town of Vugledar.
Ukrainian Army Commander Oleksandr Syrskyi said today that Russian forces have intensified attacks near the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk province as Moscow attempts to gain control of nearby positions.
According to General Syrskyi, Ukrainian forces are repelling Russian attacks in the region. He announced that he had visited soldiers fighting in the Bakhmut and Lyman areas, reviewing options for "further actions and methods to enhance the effectiveness of the army's combat deployment."
In a report issued on the morning of November 1st, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that Russian forces had attempted to retake positions near Klishchiivka and Andriivka south of Bakhmut and near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia province, but were unsuccessful.

Bakhmut was once the most intense and bloody battleground between Ukrainian and Russian forces. Moscow gained control of Bakhmut in May, while Ukraine launched a counteroffensive in June to retake Bakhmut as well as other territories in the east and south.
On the Avdiivka front in Donetsk, Russia is concentrating forces to control this strategic city. Avdiivka was previously under Russian control, but Ukraine recaptured it in September.
Avdiivka and Bakhmut play a crucial role in Moscow's plan to gain complete control of eastern Ukraine.
Ukrainian Army spokesman Volodymyr Fitio acknowledged on November 12 that weather conditions could affect ground operations, hindering the movement of military equipment.
"If it starts raining now, the use of both air power and combat drones will decrease. Therefore, moving equipment will become more difficult. However, artillery will continue to be used as before," Fitio said.
Mr. Fitio also stated that disrupting Russian supply lines and eliminating offensive positions is one of the most important tasks for the Ukrainian army.
General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of Ukraine's Tavria Group fighting on the southern front, confirmed on November 12 that Russian forces had intensified airstrikes in the south, including air-guided bombs.
General Tarnavskyi stated that the Ukrainian army recorded 30 Russian airstrikes, 712 artillery shelling incidents, and 48 clashes between Ukrainian and Russian forces in the area over the past 24 hours. This occurred as Ukrainian forces continued their counteroffensive in the direction of Melitopol.
Meanwhile, the commander of the Tavria Group said Ukrainian artillery had shelled Russian positions more than 1,000 times.
