Russia flattened Ukraine's General Staff Headquarters; Kyiv destroyed Russian air defense systems... these are the updates on the Russia-Ukraine conflict on the morning of November 1st.

Russia tightens its grip on Kursk, many Ukrainian soldiers killed.

As Russia tightened its siege on Kursk, the Ukrainian army decided to break through, but under enemy fire, Kyiv's soldiers suffered heavy losses.

In the Kursk region, although the Russian army has not been able to completely encircle the northern Ukrainian army group, they have succeeded in isolating and blockading many smaller areas.

Currently, the situation indicates that Ukrainian reinforcements are attempting to break through the large Russian encirclement in an attempt to rescue the isolated units. Meanwhile, the Russian army is fiercely engaging Ukrainian reinforcements at weak points within the encirclement while simultaneously clearing out the scattered Ukrainian forces inside.

The Ukrainian forces may have realized that the remaining units trapped in the encirclement could not hold out much longer, so they began counterattacking and attempting to break through the encirclement, while the Russian Army also deployed missile forces, using ballistic missiles to directly attack villages in the Ukrainian-held Kursk region, in order to accelerate the clearing operation.

The fiercest battles are still raging on the road from Darino to Novoivanovka, including the eastern and southern areas of Lyubimovka, where intense fighting is also taking place. Ukrainian reinforcements are launching a fierce counterattack, but have been repelled before they can reach the edge of the village.

According to observer Mikhail Zvinchuk, on October 29, Russian forces launched a large-scale counterattack on the village of Novoivanovka after receiving reinforcements, despite having previously been pushed out of the area. With the support of heavy artillery and armored vehicles, Russian infantry successfully broke through from the western outskirts into the village.

Although the Ukrainian forces persevered in their defense and used armored vehicles to counterattack, after losing several armored vehicles, their direct firepower was significantly reduced. The Russian forces took advantage of this opportunity to attack from the west all the way to the east of the village.

Currently, Russian forces have re-established their position in the western part of the village, but this position remains unstable, while the eastern area is in a stalemate. Due to the importance of this village, Ukrainian forces have deployed the 47th Mechanized Brigade to launch a fierce counterattack.

With half a company and the support of armored vehicles, Ukrainian forces launched three attacks on Russian positions. After losing 25 soldiers, they halted large-scale attacks and switched to harassment tactics. Initial estimates suggest that Ukrainian forces are deploying additional troops and are expected to launch a new offensive soon.

Near the village of Darino, after using thermobaric missiles and 3-ton bombs to attack the area, Russian troops advanced into the western part of the village and moved towards the center.

Russia unleashes a storm of UAVs on Ukraine's General Staff.

Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of the Chechen Republic in Russia, said that Moscow's armed forces attacked a drone targeting a building belonging to the Ukrainian General Staff.

According to TASS, Kadyrov said that the Russian military's drone attack on the Ukrainian General Staff was " in retaliation for the drone attack on a special forces training center in the Chechen city of Gudermes on the morning of October 29. "

Kadyrov wrote on Telegram: “ The retaliation was carried out yesterday. At 4:00 and 5:30 a.m. on October 30, the Russian army launched two attacks, using Geran drones, on the control center of the Ukrainian General Staff's unmanned systems in Kyiv. It was from this center that the drones, controlled by the Ukrainian side, flew to the city of Gudermes on October 29.

According to the Chechen leader, the attack killed at least nine people and injured 17. Ukraine has not yet commented on the information shared by Mr. Kadyrov.

Earlier, Kadyrov stated that the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes, Chechnya, was attacked by Ukrainian drones on October 29, marking the first attack on Chechnya since the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv began.

Ukrainian UAV destroys $25 million Russian air defense system.

Recently, Ukraine used US-made Switchblade-600 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to attack Russia's $25 million Tor short-range air defense system.

According to Newsweek, Ukraine's 14th Unmanned Aerial Systems Regiment released a video showing a Switchblade-600 drone targeting and attacking a Russian Tor air defense system on the front lines.

Ukraine claims its military used two drones to destroy Russian air defense systems, but did not specify the time or location of the incident. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense has not commented.

According to the US-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, the Tor air defense systems, which NATO calls the SA-15 Gauntlet, are mobile, short-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems capable of detecting and intercepting targets at distances exceeding 16 km. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense stated that each Tor system costs approximately $25 million.

According to Ukraine's 14th Regiment, the Tor system "is commonly used to hunt UAVs." " But one fine day, this role was reversed when the hunter became the hunted ," the 14th Regiment emphasized.

Ukraine is believed to have attacked numerous Russian air defense systems such as Tor, Buk, Pantsir, and S-400 during the conflict between the two sides.

Russian Su-34 aircraft drop bombs, shaking Kursk.

In the Kursk region, thanks to a significant increase in support troops from Ukraine, the situation has shifted dramatically, although it did not relieve the siege of the northern Kursk troop concentration, but it prevented the Russian forces from narrowing the encirclement.

With Russia also deploying additional forces, the Ukrainian army fears that, once Russia gains sufficient strength, it will launch a large-scale counterattack. Therefore, the Ukrainian forces want to seize several key bases before Russian reinforcements arrive, especially along the line from Tolstoy Lug to Novovanivka.

The Ukrainian army has deployed its most elite forces here, and has spared no expense in bringing in heavy military equipment from the United States and Germany.

According to observer Yury Podoljaka, on October 28, the Ukrainian Army launched seven offensives against Zelenyi Shlyakh, Novovanivka, and surrounding areas. With the support of German Panthers and American Abrams tanks, along with Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, the Ukrainian Army launched a strong offensive in the area west of Novovanivka village.

With strong direct firepower, despite losing two Panther tanks, the Ukrainian Army repelled the main Russian forces in the western area and successfully gained control of most of the village. However, some houses are still under Russian control.

Meanwhile, Russian main forces are massing on the western outskirts of the villages of Novovanivka and Zelenyi Shlyakh, and calling for support from heavy mechanized forces. A Russian counterattack is expected soon.

The village of Novovanivka is located right next to Highway 38K-030. If Ukrainian forces capture this village, they could then encircle Zelenyi Shlyakh, control Highway 38K-030, and eventually advance north along this road to rescue the remaining Ukrainian forces north of Kursk, or even coordinate with them to counterattack Orgovka.

Therefore, the Russian forces could not afford to lose Novovanivka at any cost. Meanwhile, the Russians intensified their offensive against the remaining Ukrainian forces north of Kursk, who were still hiding in the Skayaroshcha forest south of Orgovka.

In addition, Russian forces intensified their attacks on the village of Darino south of Tolstoy Lug. If they capture this village, the Russians could advance closer to the village of Sverdlikovo and control Highway 38K-030 from the south, completely blocking the Ukrainian advance towards Zelenyi Shlyakh and Novovanivka.

The Ukrainian army also understood this, so they continuously deployed more reserve forces to the village of Darino. To capture this village, the Russian army had been using TOS-1A flamethrower tanks to shell it for several days, and then deployed Su-34 aircraft to drop heavy bombs.
